Have a shop listen to this, it is very hard to diagnose any noise like the one you have without being there.

1992 chevy 3500 wont shift unless under hard acceleration

there is a transmission sensor on the top of your motor by the intake. it senses the accelerator or motor rpm's and tells the ****** to shift. its about 30.00 and easy to change. get it at any auto parts store.

Rpms drop on acceleration on 94 subaru impreza L

If your car has coil packs it is most likly them. Some Impreza cars especially the Turbo versions have individual coils built into the lead at the plug end. If your car has these then they crack down the side . If you take them out you can see a fine crack in the plastic. You cannot fix them, they have to be replaced. Check to see if you have them, it might help.

Accelerator problems

Hi,

If you have the turbo charged version, this issue refers to the "turbo dead zone" between 3500-4000 RPM. This refers to the no acceleration between these two RPMs and is caused by the time difference between the time the second turbo kicks in after the first turbo has activated. If you are referring to acceleration loss/delay below 3500 RPM, the issue is "turbo lag" which pertains to the delay in time between the stepping on the gas pedal and the 1st turbo activating.

In some other instances including non-turbo versions, the problem may be due to air leak in the intake manifold and the air cleaner. In the turbo versions, it would include the in/out junction of the blower including the clamps.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
