Starting with the battery light, the warning light means the alternator is not charging the battery. It could be a faulty alternator, or a problem with the wiring between the battery and the alternator.
Normally you can drive a vehicle for several miles on the battery alone.
If you have charged the battery and it checks out ok, you would need to check the wiring from the battery to the alternator and to the fuse box for problems.

SOURCE: 2001 chevy blazer not starting

I had this same problem with my 1997 Blazer, which required a fuel pump replacement as Nitrobike said. The sign to look for is when you get in the Blazer, turn your key forward to the accessory position, but not the start position. You should hear the fuel pump charging. It sounds like a hissing or whirring noise for about 2-3 seconds while it pumps fuel into the lines to prime the engine.

Fuel pump replacement isn't cheap, about $700-$1000.

Dead battery, used jumpers. Lights work dashboard lights up. Motor will not turn over

If the battery is very dead, it can take a while for the dead battery to regain enough charge to start. If you are jump starting from a jump box and not a running vehicle, there may not be enough power available to get the charge to a level that can start the vehicle. Hook up the jumpers cable to a running vehicle and allow 10-20 minutes for the battery to gain some charge. Monitor both batteries carefully during this time and should any unusual amount of heat or if smoke starts to come from either battery, shut everything down and disconnect as quickly (and safely) as possible.

Battery dead 2 mornings this wk, battery 2 yrs old checked out good, dashboard light says trunk open but not, Could this drain battery or maybe sensor is bad?

Check the switch of the trunk light if it's shutting off when the trunk close. The indicator light on your dashboard says something's wrong. Although the trunk bulb consumes small power when switched on (i guess it's only 5W), but draining out the battery power depends on how long the vehicle hasn't been started to re-charge the battery.

Hello,

Based on your problem, that I read fully twice, based on ALL THE things that are dead, this is positively a battery charging system problem.

Meaning this, Sense nothing works including head lights, which would work most likely, and they don't you are going to find this problem in a couple possible places. It appears your battery is dead. Now, listen if your battery is not dead or is good, the cables (positive or negative could be loose, or bad connection. What could also of happened, to cause this is a couple of things. If you have a bad alternator as you were driving it, it would not be charging your battery and actually draining it, with all your electronics on while driving. So, when you parked it, that battery most likely is completely dead or a positive of ground from that battery if loose or poor connection, allow the alternator not to charge battery while driving.

In conclution. Check good the battery, and connections and then the alternator. Now, sense you have no testing equipment as you stated, hard to test the alternator, all you can do, is somehow charge your battery and get car going and try and drive to closest battery place, even auto zone can check your battery cells and your alternator. I hope this helps. Mike

Battery was dead charged it up and tryed to start car but starter doesn't ingage but everything else works good was starting good before the battery went dead from sitting for a couple of months

More then likely you have a bad battery, if you feel battery is charge up, turn your head light's on , try to start car, if your head light go dim your battery needs to be replace it has bad cell's.Hope this was helpful.

2000 Saturn LS1 dashboard battery light

the light is across one diode in the rectifier pack in the alternator, usually there are 9 of them, one of yours has failed, probably the failed diode is leaking current and draining the battery. In this instance the battery will be good (if drained) and the other 8 diodes will show a good charge.Get the current drain checked with everything switched off

2000 Saturn LS1 dashboard battery lite

the alternator has a circuit in it that illuminates the battery light on the dash.that circuit is most likely at fault but because the battery went dead once i would think your alternator is just about at the end of it's useful life.

Dead Car

have the alternator checked for proper output.
Autozone will do it for free if you take the alternator off and take it to the store.
you were running the car on the battery until it drained all the power out of it.
