The relay is sticking on... look for it either under the dash in the fuse panel... or the fuse panel located in the engine compartment located near the battery.

Rear defrost stays on when car is shut off in 1996 impala ss

The rear defro does not have power going to it with the key off. This means there is somehow a short to power to this switch, if you can remove the switch check for power at the connection. If there is power there is a short, I will send you a schematic of the circuit.

2004 4Runner Rear Wiper and Defroster won't work

I just had the same problem. I have an '04 4Runner and my rear wiper, fluid wash, and defrost stopped working after it was recently serviced. If you had the battery cables disconnected recently here is the solution...Start the engine and lower the rear tailgate window all the way... close the rear window and then turn the engine off. Restart the engine and the wiper, wash, and defrost. should work again. It has something to do with the computer which needs to be rebooted. Good luck.

Hello,
If you armed the security system with the key Fob Transmitter it will stay armed until it is disarmed with the transmitter if the door switch is bad in the latch.
I would try to unlock the doors with your remote transmitter. If this doesnt help try to unlock your rear Trunk/tail gate with the key making sure all doors are closed. If this doesnt work you may need to perform the VTD relearn procedure. Let me know If thats the case Ill give you the instructions you need.

No power to all three (3) blower switches, rear defrost switch,

Check for a loose connection at that fuse panel you were playing with.
I'll check other ideas & get back to you, while you check that.

7/2002 Mitsubishi Magna, when starting you have to turn ignition on twice to get it going, it does start on the first try but then conks out. I had someone run into the left rear yesterday , minor damage,...

this may have done somthing to your relay switch which primes up your fuel pump for starting i have no way to know for sure but i cant raelly think of anything else in the rear that may effect the starting of your car.
