Question about 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Truck
In October '08 my '01 dodge with the 24V 5.9l diesel HO six speed manual tranny, developed a problem. While driving it would suddenly lose power and the check engine light would come on. i would downshift and it would immediately regain power. check engine light would stay on but run fine. Check engin light would go off after truck set for an hour or so. Cummins Southern plains checked it out and found the lift pump was bad and it was replaced. the loss of power problem occured again after about two weeks and still occurs every two to three weeks. i had the codes checked and there was throttle position sensor code. where is the sensor so i can replace it myself?? or is the TPS the problem. .
Need To know the codes and a reason why they did not replace the fuel pump and only the lift pump
