OK well sounds warm im from minnesota it was -51 today with the wind chill. Well fist off have you ever replaced both the fuel filters on it before ? !6 not too cold but when it gets cold out if you arent using winter thaw or some additive in the fuel it will start to gell up or wax up. Does the truck smoke at all when you try to start it ? and how long does the wait to start light stay on ?

My 95 dodge 3500 diesel takes a long time for the wait to start light comes on when its cold outside does anyone know why?

the glow plug may be old and worn. your vehicle is waiting for this to get hot enough to start your diesel and over time the heating element gets weak and deposits form on it. try replacing the glow plug. hope this helps

Easy Morning Start Ups

Hey Everyone, this is a little tip for your morning start up, Where i live its geting cold and Everyone hates cold starts,

If you turn your key twice, Just before you start, wait for engine light to go on, Wait for it to go off, turn the car off, turn the car back on wait for the engine light again, when it goes off, start your car,

This primes your fuel pumps for a better start especialy if the car has been sitting for a good while

2004 ford excursion 6.0 was slow at starting unless plugged in, now won't start at all need to know exactley where the glow plug relay is located

im assuming this is the diesal 6.0, and your using the heated plug for over night. in this case check the battery, starter, and altinator. sounds like the oil is warm and starts easily, and oil is cold and has hard time turning the engine over due to the cold (thicker) oil. or the starter just may not be getting the full amount of amps it needs to turn it over, I would start there and if this works, then try a thinner oil in the cold weather, then thicker for summer.

Car starts and then dies

This is the security system in the car it is suppose to read a chip in the key but, the system stops working properly. If you look at your dash board lights when you just turn the car on with out turning on the engine, they are probably not on. you have to wait until these lights turn on before you can start the vehicles engine. this could take anywhere from 5 to 20 min. its ridiculous. it happened to my car too, and it is usually when its cold outside. it costs like $600 for them to fix it too and you have to take it to a GMC dealership.

Diesal engin will not start without eather

check the glow plugs circuit to ensure that the pre-combustion chambers are being suficiently heated. also fuel cetane rating must be high enough for cold weather starting. diesel will gel when cold if the cetane rating is low non winter diesel that is. A good fuel stabilizer could help. hope this helps

2003 toyota avensis diesal . dificult starting from initial start

I am assuming this a cold weather only issue ?? Turn your key to on before cranking it over for about 5 sec to let the glow plug heat up a moment. Not allowing the glow plug to warm will wear out your starter.

F 250 7.3 l diesal will not crank blew a fuse a 30 amp fuse under

it is possible you may have caused the fuse to blow by accidently touching something on that circuit. The truck requires a min of 11v to start if the wait to start light is ok now charging the batteries should make it start
