The acuator is located on top of the heater box, most of the time you have to remove the dash, the most common problem is the acuator , but the blend door inside the case also breaks

Heater does not work, doors open ok but no heat

Air Temperature Control Blend Door Failure No Heat or no AC (dependes on where door sticks)

In all modern cars there is a tiny DC electric motor driven gear drive that moves a plastic door that blends heated and cooled air from the AC and the heater core, this is called (interestedly enough) the air temperature control blend door actuator. The motor that moves this door fails because the door starts sticking from warping, most common complaint is no heat but it can be no AC as well. To replace these parts (blend door and blend door actuator) you must remove the entire dash from the car. Always have this problem confirmed by a dealer or qualified repair shop as it is a very expensive repair.

Other causes of no heat in the cabin are engine thermostats that are stuck open (engine runs cold) or air bubbles in the cooling system.

I bought my lincoln from a friend she could not afford to have the ac repaired so she had a mechanic fix it so the ac would work now there is no heat what do i do

This sounds like a problem with the blend door. This is the mechanism that mixes hot and cold air. If the door is stuck it will only allow cold air to pass This is a common problem in Lincoln's.

Where is vent door accuator located in 1996

You will have to remove the actuator motor and stick something into the hole for the vent door, and turn it until it opens, and tie it off to keep it there.

My ac line gets cold but on the inside of the car hot air blows out. what's wrong with my ac.

It is a actuator motor on the inside of the dash ,mounted on the blower box,the dash will have to be removed to replace it.The actuator motor controls the temp door, and it is not moving the temp door.If this was helpful,at all, please rate, and thank you.

Has no heat engine temp good heater hoses hot

U have a failed air temperature control electric blend door actuator, to replace this part requires the dash be removed from the car, the part is located on the outside of the heating duct about center of dash.

The selector to route the air does not work, on 2005 lincoln town car. what is the problem?

The airflow is directed by a series of doors in the ductwork that open and close in order to deliver air to the vents specified by the operator. The doors are operated by vacuum. When the doors do not work properly, the most common problem is a vacuum leak, although it could be caused by a bad actuator...(the device that the vacuum operates). Good Luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful!

1997 Lincoln Town Car; nothing but heat; loud clicking under dash finally stopped but turning on climate control/vents only results in high temperature heat. Sounds like a blend door problem, but is it...

check your vaccum lines behind the dash. if you find the one that goes to the blend door, put some vaccum on it and see if it opens and closes for you. if not, then yes, your blend door is broken. if it closes, check your temp control gauge.
