Question about 1994 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer

1 Answer

Heater blower I have a 1994 chevy blazer and the heater blows out very little heat. After awhile it kicks in and starts blowing and other times it don't. Seems like it only kicks in when the vehicle is moving, never when its sitting still. Any ideas?

94 Celica Heater not blowing

Could be a blown fuse for the blower motor or the blower motor itself is worn out. There is also a blower motor resister pack that could be at fault--it has three resisters in it that vary the blower speed--but it would be unusual for it to fail in such a way that the blower stops. Usually it just gets stuck on one speed. However, the resister is located down near your feet on one side (I forget which for that model) and if the wiring connector becomes unplugged (from an accidental kick), then the blower won't work.

take off the feed pipes, close with 2 pairs of mole grips so coolant doesnt leak then flush the heater rad out with a hose doing it in both direction then refit pipes remove the molies and top up with neat antifreeze .that should work

My 1999 chevy blazer will not blow heat

the age of the vehicle does suggest the heater core could be plugged, when the motor has been run awhile where is the temperature gauge (if it has one). ?
If i remember right it's not that bad a job to replace the heater core in those trucks... but it's been awhile for me. I would suggest some cardboard or something in front of the rad to see if it warms up at all. if so it is likely a thermostat that needs to be replaced.
