Most likely in this severe weather the fluid and the bands in the transmission need time to circulate and warm up. It is a good idea in severe weather to allow a vehicle to warm up for at least 4 - 6 minutes before driving it. Remember that oils and lubricants get very thick in cold weather.

No humming sound, fromfuel pump the moment the ignition switches on no spark at the coil while the ignition is trying to start the van

Hello, again many times now. Bridget once you think you have it fixed. Remove the coil wire from the distributor and let your husband or husbands, if not then let you boy friend hold the end of the coil wire and touching the vehicle. Now, Bridget start the engine on your Plymouth Van. Check to see what your boy friend is he doing, sparking or flaming. I'll bet Dear that he'll keep the bed warm to night. Have a very nice evening/great day and be safe. GB....stewbison

My transmission dose not want to shift in high gear for about 2 miles when cold

This is a commin problem with these vans ,have had my van for 13 years and it has done that every time the temperature plunged it is not serious I was told those trannys have a fail safe system built in and if they get too cold ,they will refuse to go into gear until they warm up a little, and that has happened to me once when it went below 40celcius.
