On top of the spark plugs wires on the distrubutor cap it will tell u a # (1-6 if you have a v6 or 1-4 if u have a V4) just follow that wire to the place on the engine!

While The Truck Is Off You Can Unplug One Of The Spark Plug Wires Then Turn It On If It Runs The Same You've Found The cylinder.
Its Directly Under That Spark Plug Most Likely You'll Just Need New Plugs.

Engine misfire

you need to take it to autozone and have them scan it (for free) and they will tell which cylinders are miss fireing and most probable causes

Missing,viborating

Misfire could be a number of things:
a) spark plugs - change them if used over 15K miles - inspect/regap.
b) spark plug wires - change them if over 15K miles - inspect
c) ECM (electronic control module) - test with HEI (high energy ignition) tester.

The vibrating tells me that the engine is running on less than its normal compliment of cylinders - the shaking is produced by the imbalance caused in the engine by one (or more) cylinder(s)
not firing at all.

The "Check Engine" light probably is coming on due the the misfire condition. Go to Pep Boys or
Advance Auto Pats, where they'll tell you (free) your codes causing the "Check Engine' light to be
lit - the code coming from your truck's computer will probably be one or more of:
P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder misfire detected
P0301 - Cylinder 1 misfire detected
P0302 - Cylinder 2 misfire detected
P0303 - Cylinder 3 misfire detected
P0304 - Cylinder 4 misfire detected
P0305 - Cylinder 5 misfire detected
P0306 - Cylinder 6 misfire detected
P0307 - Cylinder 7 misfire detected
P0308 - Cylinder 8 misfire detected
P0313 - Misfire detected with low fuel

Check engene light came on

The Check Engine light comes on to tell you that there is a problem with the way the engine is running. It could be a worn, broke or dirty sensor, or a miss-fire of 1 or more cylinders. The easiest thing to do is take the truck to a big box part store and have them retrieve the info from the trucks computer. This will tell you what area we need to look at. Post the codes and we can go from there.

My check engine light blinks for my mercury cougar at idle at every stop light, stop sign, everything as soon as i stop or put it in park it starts blinking whats wrong?

Usually when your check engine like is blinking it means you have a miss fire. You can go to Auto Zone and have them pull the codes and it will tell you what cylinder is misfiring. ( if you want to only fix that one miss).

Check engine light is on. Has a miss when under load. At idle it is smooth.

have the fault code checked that is stored along with the check engine light, the code will tell u which cylinder is misfiring, Kragen and Autozone both do this OBD2 electronic engine control fault code test for free, just tell them your CEL is on and ask them to test it.

2003 ford expedition missing very bad and won't get over 9 mph.

Check the fuel pressure to the fuel rail. if pressure is low, you may have a clog in the line. If the miss is from start up, start with checking your plugs, fouled and proper gap, and wires. If it does not do this until it warms up, could be an injector. check for codes, some times you will have a code in the computer and no check engine light on. P030* is a miss, the fourth digit tells you what cylinder.

Miss on # 3 cylinder

Check the plug and plug wire to #3, if they are ok test the fuel injector and test the compression on that cylinder.
