the bolts have been removed but there is something else holding the handles in place. something on other side of the bolts is still holding the handles there.

Look for plugs in the handles. Remove the plugs, and there will be retainig screws hidden underneath.

Smack them with your hand, if anything, the plastic was drawn into the threads when they were installed.

There is nothing else holding the handles in place.

On the Front Surface of the Handles there are small Tabs that look just like the Handle that have to be Removed to Access the Bolts.

They could Possibly be Spot Welded into Place in addition Or, Have small slides on the Back that fit onto Studs. Use something not too heavy to Tap on them. Wrap a Shop Wrag around it so that you do not Mess it up.

How to remove a sun visor in a 2015 jeep cherokee

unclip the sun visor from the "latch" side. Using a flathead pocket screwdriver gently pry the plastic shroud away around the hinge side. This will expose the bolts for the sun visor. Remove the weatherstripping partially from around the door if equipped with grab handles gently pry the covers off the hinges with pocket screwdriver and remove bolts (t30) partially remove cover from clip for sun visor and remove bolt (t20). Pull firmly directly out on a-pillar to unseat from pillar. Unscrew the three bolts from sun visor hinge side and gently unseat from wiring guide. Reaching above headliner gently guide wires for sun visor down through headliner and detach from harness.

How do i replace the sunroof track on my 2001 jeep grand cherroke limited? the bracket that the air deflector attaches to is broken.

You have to remove the headliner. Remove all the door column bezels and rear bezels, both sides. Remove the sun visors. Remove any dome lights and look for screws. Most headliners have plastic buttons and Velcro that hold them in place. Start in one place and work your way around to release the headliner. Being extremely careful. Because if you pull down to hard, you will crack the headliner, leaving a nice crease. Once the headliner is out, You can get to the sun roof regulator and motor.

How do i take headliner off

you have to first remove all the Plastic trim pieces around the head liner that hold it in place including grab handles or clothes hangers then it will come down easily, i recommend having an extra set of hands when you take it down so as not to damage it, then simply slide it out through the rear hatch. it is actually very easy to do.

Back hatch wont open on 96 Jeep GC

if it's still stuck as of today look under the rear bumper in the center,WEAR PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR and with a flashlite high up in there you will see a couple of studs with nuts. using a extension and i believe a 13mm socket loosen but do not remove both nuts. pull on the door a couple of times to free it up and then retighten both nuts. now try the door slowly and it worked for me.you will most likely have too repeat this until it operates freely and closes tightly [to keep the elements out].it is not labor intensive and it's worked on my 96 gc twice. best and luck and let the rest of us know how you came out. jeepinjiminy
