ABS has nothing to do with the brake pads, it is likely u may have inadvertly knocked the connector off the wheel sensor or damaged the sensor ring.

If While Installing CV Joint you Failed to Disconnect Wheel Speed Sensor FOR ABS System, It is Possible The wire got stretched and broke off INSIDE Outer Wire Insulter. OR Just Totally UNKNOWINGLY Broke it or Disconnected it. OUTER CV Joint? Match up PERFECTLY? Sense Light came on After Repair to THAT Particular side Concentrate on INSPECTING That side, for A 2 Wire Wrapped as 1 May be a Plug Just inside the Engine Compartment, Coming FROM Wheel well with a 2nd Plug There 1st Plug Being AT The SAID Wheel Backing Plate. Upon Discovery of Problem Reset Light at A Service Center OR Just Disconnect NEGATIVE Battery Cable for 1 minute. Again no doubt that WhEEL's Part Of the ABS Circuitry was Disrupted
I'm in Great Hopes you Find this as Helpfull Information and it assists you in Correcting your Problem. Have a Great Day,

Dashboard warning light second on the dash board of a Toyota corolla E110 series we have replaced CV joints and i think there are slightly different in either the size or the sharp but the tooth are...

Hi P,
I think that the warning light that has come on is the ABS warning light. If you look at the CV joint which has been removed from your vehicle, you'll see a ring gear that looks like a cog on the widest part of the old CV joint. That cog ring should be carefully removed and then fitted to the new CV joint. That's the rotor which sends an electrical pulse to the ABS system. Without it the Abs system can't work.

Break and abs light on

If your abs and brake light are on, first check to make certain that there is enough fluid in the brake reservoir. Next, you will have to check the abs sensors on each wheel for damage. Generally, the sensors are easily found because they are attached to a wire near your cv joints. If your sensor are ok, then the next probable cause could be a ring(s) on your cv joint(s) has damaged and require replacing the entire cv joint. Also, if your check engine light is on, have the light read for possible codes.

Good Luck

Hi have no idicators, central locking, fans inside ABS & Airbag light on

Is the engine starting?

Not sure I have understood the problem. Please confirm if this is correct.

1. the indicator lights on your dashboard do not come on (green lights). Are you saying the green left and right arrow lights do not turn on when you turn the indicator lever up or down. Do you see the outside orange lights flashing?
2. central locking is not working
3. the ABS and Airbag lights on dashoard are on
4. what happens to the fan. This is no clear either.

Air bag and abs lights staying on

If the Airbag light is on, it indicates that a electronic fault is stored in the memory for the airbag. You will need to have a diagnostic check done to pinpoint what the fault is, have it sorted out and only then can the fault be cleared so the light will go off. The ABS light also indicates a fault on the electronic side of the braking system. If the light comes on as you start the vehicle this indicates that there is an open circuit in the wiring or that the ABS control unit itself is faulty. If the light only comes on once the vehicle is in motion, this indicates that a wheel speed sender is incorrectly fitted or dirty and not sensing the ABS Rotor on one of the wheels. If a CV joint has been replaced, the joint may not have an ABS ring fitted on it.[front] At the rear the ABS pick up is fitted on the inside of the brake discs and must be fitted to the new disc when replacing discs.

How do you replace a cb joint in a 2002 impala? I just had hub bearing replace because the traction light and ABS light came on while driving on dry pavement. The light came back on after first repair. 2nd...

It is a CV joint, Constant Velocity, and they do make noise when they go, they can be changed, but it will be a lot easier to just take it to a shop and let them do it. It involves a lot of work, something you may not be up to. This won't do anything for the abs light, and it might not do anything for the traction light, but it will fix the axle. The lights indicate something not working. Most people don't fix the abs, and I don't know what to say about the traction light. I don't know why it is coming on. Unless the alternator is going bad. Sometimes when the voltage reg goes inside the alternator it will send mixed signals to the dash board and you will get a light show. Hope this helps.

How do I get to the license plate lights to change them?

Make sure that the new shaft you installed has the ABS gearing on the outter CV joint. If it does, inspect the ABS sensor (mounted on the spindle)for damage or dirtyness...clean or replace the sensor. Hopefully this helps

Anti lock light and so on , is on

please don't GUE$$ this problem speed sensor is part of your speedometer!! not the ABS sensor located at cv joint sensor ring! the sensor is bolted or pressed on to you brake anchor ///hub but it could be your ABS pump?? it could be 1 of 4 of your ABS sensor switches it could even be the sensor RING on CV joint? so to GUE$$ would cost $100.00 up word to a $1000.00 so again take in get it properly scanned to retreve the sensor or other part at fault! usually the fee is waved if you do the repair at that destination! or reduce 1/2 price depending on how well of a relationship you have with your tech our shop usually waves it if you go ahead and get the work required completed! QUESTION is it dangers absolutely! your safety as well as inasint others well it is your choice I hope the free support I gave you helped you out some way shape or form.John

Abs brake light

The abs system uses sensors to detect the rotation speeds of the wheels. They "count" serrated notches on the driveshaft cv joins which are located in the centre of each wheel on the inner side. These serrations can become clogged with grease/ rust/road muck so the sensors read incorrectly causing the fault light to come on. I can't remember whether it's possible to clean the serrations out without pulling the driveshafts out (quite a hefty job as there is a large and very tight nut on the end of each driveshaft which has to be removed). You'll need to have the car jacked up and on axle stands or better, up on an inspection ramp, then from underneath, scrape out all the gunk from the serrations with a small screwdriver or knife blade whilst rotating the wheel to gain access.
The sensors themselves can also develop faults, often caused by wiring breakage especially on the front wheels. The wiring to the sensors become brittle with age and can fracture-moreso the front ones as they are subject to most strees due to steering movements of the front wheels. The distance between the sensor tips and the cv joint serrations is also quite critical too.
In short: First ensure the brake fluid reservoir is topped up with the correct brake fluid (for abs systems), then make sure the power steering fluid reservoir is correctly topped up with the correct(usually mineral based) power steering fluid. Deficiency in either of these reservoirs will cause the abs warning light to come on and is by far the easiest thing to remedy but do make sure you use the correct fluids-if in doubt, consult Audi. Next check the wiring to the sensors, inspect the tips for cleanliness and positioning , then have a go at cleaning the cv joint serrations.
If these remedies don't solve the problem, it could be the bake servo (on the end of the brake master cylinder in the engine bay) or at worst (most expensive) the abs pump itself, although these are, thankfully, very reliable units.
Hope this helps, feel free to contact me for any other help I can offer.Good luck, Bob.
