Gas pedal stuck on my Sunfire 2000

Hi,

As I was driving to work yesterday, my gas pedal got stuck pushed down. I was able to get to work only cause the breaks are still working. I was not able to make a full stop and is wondering why this happened? Is it possible it's because it's missing oil? or because it is really cold outside and it froze?
Please let me know a.s.a.p.
Thank you

I checked the floormat and that was not the issue in this case. I'm just thinking that it's just the weather. Cause I just drove my car home and it was fine. It's really cold in the past few days so hopefully that's just the problem.
    Thanks thought!

Lol...this might sound crazy but usually what happens is the floormats do it...people just dont notice....otherwise it could be the throttle body is so cold it froze...just sprat some silicone spray on it

Emergency brake pedal stuck won't release, there is no release pull, the pedal is push down and push down again to release won't go down any farther to release! stuck on the side of the road right now

Start the vehicle, and while pushing down on the break put the vehicle in reverse and gently use accelerator to go back an inch or four. If that doesn't work continue to rock the car back and forth until the ebrake cuts loose

My gas pedal gets hard during driving can my idle pulley cause that

Look under the hood. you should find a part under there with two metal thin lines connected to it so that when you push the gas pedal, that part moves up, when released, it should go back down, have someone press the gas pedal and look for it right on top of the engine. is there something blocking it? wiring harness, etc.?

Gas pedal sticking open while i'm driving down the road

Depending on the make model and year, it could be a binding throttle cable, or sludge on the throttle plate.

Gas pedal is very hard to push down and car turns off sometimes while driving. I've had this car for a year and it's never done this. What could be causing it?

A warped throttle blade could cause this or a binding throttle cable or linkage, you must have to figure out which one.

Stuck gas pedal cause the car not to start

Yes, if the gas pedal is stuck fullt down the Throttle Sensor located in the throttle body will note the throttle position and shut down the fuel injectors. If in the future your fuel injected car becomes flooded, hold the gas pedal down and turn the engine over this will help free the engine of too much fuel.

I hope this may have assisted you,
