After I replace a new battery in the key, hawcan I reset the antitheft system on mu 2008 Lancer

Not reset reprogram right. To do that follow the instructions below.
1. Locate the Data Port under drivers side dashboard usually located to the right of steering column.

2. Insert keys in ignition and leave in the OFF position.

3. Make sure there are metal contact pins in terminals 1 and 4 and connect the Data Port terminals 1 and 4 with a
suitable jumper wire, leave the jumper wire connected throughout the programming procedure. Make sure you
know which terminals are 1 and 4.

4. Within 10 seconds after connecting the jumper wire, press the Hazard Switch 6 times. Note: The doors will
automatically lock and unlock once at this time indicating that the system is in the programming mode.

5. Press the LOCK button on the remote to be registered three times within 10 seconds. Upon successful
programming, the door will lock and unlock once.

6. Repeat step 5 with up to 4 remotes (including any existing remotes) within one minute. After completing each
programming, the doors will lock and unlock once.

7. Disconnect the programming wire and remove the keys from the ignition.

Lost my original key

You must see the dealer or have a locksmith do this, you will need a new lock cylinder and the system must be programmed to recognize the new key code. About a $600.00 job with parts and labor.

I have a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer ES 2.0L that has a problem starting. Battery is fine & if you push start it it'll start 4-5 times with the key then not start. Replaced starter and the problem remains

When you start the Lancer, does it actually turn over and start? Or does it sputter while you're pressing the start button?

This is what I would start with. First, I'd find your fuel regulator and follow the vacuum line that leads to the engine - then unplug that. Find some extra tubing or rag that you can replace that plug with to keep it sealed. Then, if you're car starts running, you'll know its just a bad regulator.

If that doesnt work, the second thing I'd try is pulling off the air-intake and spray some brake cleaner in there to see if it will start. If that works, then you have a fuel leak or clog somewhere thats preventing your fuel from reaching the sparkplugs.

Hope this helps-

Hi i have a mitsubishi lancer 1.3 petrol 2006, i

wow ok i am from australia our lancers only come in a 2.0 or 2.4 i was shocked to see a 1.3 lancer
now with the key
every time you incert the key into the ignition it reads the key as there is a chip in the orignal keys so thatway the immobiliser knows thatit is safe for the car to start
if the cra can not read the key it will not let the car start evan if it is twisting to start etc
you need to go to mitsubishi and have them copy some new keys and let them reset the codes on the immobiliser if you try to do so your self it may trigger a cold shut down
this is when the immobiliser its self needs to be replaces as well as the keys
hopes this helps
