Block heaters are usually inserted into a freeze plug manufacturing hole in the cylinder block, heating the metal, coolant and oil.

    Follow the plug cord back to the heater.

    It looks like this when removed.

if its the blower motor your lookin for its above the passengers feet behind the glovebox. try bangin on it with the heater turned on. if it starts up the brushes are worn or stuck.

Where is the block heater cord located on this truck?

I assume you have a 6.6L V-8 installed in the truck. If so, the block heater is located on the Right Side of the engine block in the center Freeze Plug boss.smogteacher_14.jpg

Need to install a engine block heater for the winter, what's involved?

first contact dodge to see if one already exists on the motor but not wired in, other wise the coolant will have to be drained and a freeze plug knocked out and heater installed

Its located on the passanger side above the kick panel there are 3 bolts that hold it in the housing

Wabasto quit cant find block heater on 2001 2500 cummins wont start too cold

small paraffin stove under the engine will help start it,but i have no idea where the heater is on the block ,i would imagine its fitted into a core plug hole about half way up the block but what side ??

Ok, the truck - org/grn goes to one of the sensor heater wires (wht).
The truck - blk goes to the other sensor heater (wht).
The truck - blk/blu goes to the sensor ground (grey)
The truck - yllw/wht goes to the sensor signal wire (blk)

Engine Block heater instalation

If you are useing one that goes where a frost plug is i usually put it in the center on the right side of the engine.(right side of engine is while you are sitting in truck). The left side has the starter in the way.

its very common for the recirc door to break off its hinge and lay over the blower motor blocking the air flow

Heater worked on high only now not at all

the resister block for the fan went. look under the dash on the duct work near the fan for an electrical fitting that goes into the duct work... should be two or three screws holding it in... remove the part and replace it...... perhaps unhook the battery first.
