Sounds like you also may have a loose connection. Check your battery cables and their connections. Both at the battery and where they end (ground will be on body, positive will be on solenoid/starter)

My explorer won't start, It was dead, I charged the battery. got a clicking noise. the battery died again, charged it and let it sit for a couple hours, went to try again, didn't even have to...

if the batter has a drain the starter may be at fault the starter can drain a battery with out running i would unhook the battery cables then charge the battery then i would have the starter tested.

My 99 mitsubishi galant won,t start battery is brand new and it still won't start it clicks like the battery is dead I even tired jumping starting land it still won't start

either you have a bad connection to your battery or,, you have a bad starter. no other solution. if it clicks when you try to start it and the batterys fully charged, you're getting fire to the starter and it's trying to start, but the starter bendix isn't kicking out.which means it's a bad starter. thank you for choosing fixya.com

MY CAR WONT START HAVE CHARGED THE BATTERY HEARD CLICKING WEN FIRST TRYED TO START IT BUT NOW WEN I GO TO START IT DONT HEAR CLICKING AN DONT HAVE LIGHTS ON THE DASH

Just because you charged the battery doesn't mean it held a charge or is capable of starting the car. To me it sounds like a dead battery or a bad cable. do you have a meter to check the voltage of the battery, if it is below 12 volt you are going to have trouble starting the car. The clicking is a sign of a weak battery or bad starter selenoid, no lights tell me a dead battery or like I said bad cable. Check all the cables from the battery to the starter and ground, look for looseness or corrosion.

I turn the key to on, then try to crank it over but everything dies not ever a click i have power to the alternator, starter, fully charged battery checked all fuses????? im lost

That sound like a bad connection from the battery. Could be at the battery or the other end of the cables. Possibly an inline fuse on the ignition wire to the starter blown but you wouldn't lose everything you would just lose the ability for the starter to turn over. Also possible you have a battery reading fully charged but with a dead cell. Have you tried getting a reading from it while someone cranks it for you? Or even turning the lights on. If they go out instead on dim the battery has a dead cell.

Im having a problem with my car starting, i just replaced the battery but it wont start...what do i do?...

Is it turning over at all or is it acting like its dead? If dead probably the starter. If you can get to the starter try tapping on the solenoid on top of the starter. It's the smaller cylinder looking thing on top of the starter where all the wires connect to. After you tap, if it does start remember you didn't fix it you temporarily unbroke it. You still need to replace the starter. You might have to tap pretty hard. Let me know how this goes. We can go from there.

I have a 99 Intrepid and it wont start. There is no power to the dash(nothing). Battery is 1 year, Starter new. With boost cables, dash lights up, but car only clicks.

battery is dead again let it charge longer then try it.
clean your cables and then have the alt and battery checked if they are both good then something is staying on like mine my brake lights stayed on once and killed the battery
good luck

Will not crank

Did you replace the starter relay yet ?
A quick and repeated clicking sound, like a mini machine gun firing sound is usually a dead battery or bad electrical connection, but it could also be a bad starter relay.
You sound experienced enough to know if you see a corroded wiring connection this would be a sign of a bad connection.
Are you sure the new battery has enough charge in it to turn the car over? Try jump starting it just in case.
Good luck and keep us posted.
