1995 Park Avenue heater A/C tempature reading flashes

When I start & begin to begin driveing the temp light on my heater flashes for 2 or 3 minutes. The heater system works OK (the weather is to cold to check the AC) I'd like to fix this as I'm afraid it my become a bigger problem later.

Ii had the same problem, fixed it temporarily by detaching the battery for a moment, this reset the blinking temp display. Nevertheless, the solution to the problem was filling the air condition up with coolant.

One or more of your actuators is malfuntioning.  they ar eunder the dash.  I had a mechanic repair mine for about 400 bucks.  the dash needs to b removed and some very tight spots to work in.  the flashing is maybe caused from the sensor.  either outside air tempo sensor or inside. does it blink while showing the inside or ouside.  not exactly sure where the inside is, but the outside is in the center in front of radiator when u open the hood. black about the size of a tube of chap stick.

It is cold here in NY I've noticed the temperature gauge as I'm driving goes up quickly. Never (at least not yet) to the point of hot usually to the M in normal but when I stop say at a light it goes back...

Check the coolant in the radiator before you start it when it is cold. It should be completely full if not There is air trapped. fill it with fluid. Check the coolant overflow reservoir. It should be near the cold level, if not fill it to the cold level. If it is the 3.8 engine they are bad about trapping air in the cooling system in engine. Try turning the heater selector all the way to highest temp and drive it on highway until it is fully hot to attempt to purge the air bubble from engine. It is normal for the temp to drop a little when the car is idling at a stop in very cold weather because of the heater load on keeping you warm (the heater core is like a little radiator). also when you are coasting downhill.

Car over-heats and heats blows cold air

It sounds like the radiator is low on coolant.
You could also have air pockets in the cooling system if the system is not full of liquid.

Temp light flashing after starting.outside temp.-17

Extreme cold weather is causing coolant to contract and fluid level is reading low level ... After starting with the engine warm the temp light should go off due to expansion of the coolant ... Solution: Add a small amount of coolant to compensate for cold weather contraction. Good luck!

My bmw 323i overheats about after 2 hours of driving my heaters work and i dont know why.

check if thermostat is stuck open as too much flow can cause this. start car cold and see how long top radiator hose takes to heat up. shoud stay cold for 3-4 minutes.
if thats ok check thermo fan operation- run can in drive way at idle for 20 + minutes untill fan starts, keep an eye on temp guage.

It sounds like the LCM (Lighting Control Module) which is a black box located directly above the gas pedal has a burnt relay inside of it. You can either have the box replaced which is costly or take the box to an electronic repair shop and have them replace the relay inside of it. If you know how to solder you can do the job yourself, you just need to buy the right replay from a parts store.

I would recommend mouser.com to purchase the relay from. You may need to take the LCM apart first and give them the numbers on the relay so they can get you the right one.

A few Problems: Starting, Heater & Radio

Problem 1: buy a system heater to keep the engine warm at night.
You can buy them at any autoparts store . You take your pick from the variety.
Place a light 100 Watt Bulb near the battery but not too close to anything else where it might burn anything.

Problem 2. Check your coolant level to see if you have the proper level. Make sure you have 1/2 antifreeze and 1/2 water if you add any coolant /antifreeze and bleed the colant system. By running the car let it cool, then turn the radiator cap or turn the bleed screw provided on some cars near the thermostat outlet. Then adding some more water and coolant etc.The tightening the cap or bleed screw. When radiator is full. Check the radiator and and remove any debris that may be keeping the air out.

Problem 3. Will get fixed because your battery won't die.
