Indicator issue Hi I have a Peugot 406 1999 model and year not avail in database, and the indicator has started to flash inconsistently, sometimes normal speed and everything is OK, but sometime it blinks at double speed and when this happens the front indicator does not light up at all, however the back does... Any idea what this may be?

THanks so much, we are all fixed, and didn't actually need a new bulb, the connection was dirty!

It could possibly be that one of the indicator bulbs has broken , when this happens there is a higher voltage drop going through the remaning bulbs which makes them blink faster.
Try switching on your hazards and walking around to see if all the indicator bulbs are working.

Just read through your problem again (didn't notice you said the front indicator doesn't light up 1st time round)

If the front indicator doesn't light up then that's why you have your indicators blinking twice as fast. In theory all you need to do is replace that indicator bulb at the front which isn't working and everything will be dandy.

Is there a light in the gearstick area of peugot 407 if so where are the fuses and bulb located

there IS a light source--either a separate bulb or a light pipe to direct illumination to the gear shift indicator. No separate fuse. Where is it? The French are VERY creative in such maters and you will need the Owners manual or Service manual to find it. I DO NOT recommend you start taking things apart to find it.

My cruise control does not work on my 2003 Ford Focus

Hi Fred,

There are several things that can cause your cruise control to not function. Anything from a bad speed sensor to a faulty speed control servo. It is impossible to tell you what is wrong without diagnosing your speed control system. Here is a quote from the vehicle manufacturer regarding this issue:

"Start by running speed control servo integrated self test diagnostics. The servo has integrated self test diagnostics which is a key tool in quickly and accurately diagnosing speed control system faults. Self test diagnostics are also the basis for starting speed control trouble shooting."

Please note that a diagnostic scan tool capable of accessing the speed control data is required for performing this task.

Hi own a Audi A4 1997 2.6 V6 model. I’m having problems sometimes on starting the car, the engine is fine and still sounds super the trouble is when I get in the car and trying to start it. When I turn the...

Assuming that your battery is in good shape at full charge, when you start the engine, it makes a click, that is the sound from a solenoid to make a contact so electric current can flow through the starter to make turns. The contacts from the solenoid get corroded due to aging and from sparks as several contacts performed over years. This becomes high resistance limiting current flow to the starter hence no turn, and also you can see the battery indicator becomes dull as to much current consumed through the high resistance path. Replace the starter solenoid will take care of your problem.
