Open the rear hatch and remove the two taillight mounting screws. These screws are located behind two plastic flaps that are flush fitting and part of the tail light housing. You will need a small flat blade screwdriver to put under the edge of the flap nearest the light. Pry gently (but persistently) and the flap will open to reveal the screw head underneath. (The hinge of the flap is on the side nearest the hatch opening.) Remove the screws with a phillips head screwdriver or an 8mm socket. Now comes the tricky part. Wiggle/pry the taillight housing as straight back as you can. Keep pulling/wiggling until the forward clip releases. Once it does you will be able to access the bulbs by rotating the bulb holders counterclockwise. Pull the bulb straight up out of its socket. Replace with the new bulb. Note how the forward spear point clip fits into its socket at the forward outboard edge of the housing. Fit the clip and push forward on the housing until you can hear the clip snap into place. Replace the screws and fold back the flaps. You're done.

How do you replace the headlight on a 2002 Daewoo Lanos

Hi there, together with providing you the solution to the problem, I also took the liberty of going one step further in giving you steps on how to remove the headlight bulb.

  • Find the hood release handle and activate it, the hood should pop open.
  • Once the hood is popped open locate the hood secondary or safety latch and release it. Then finish opening the hood.
  • Locate and remove mounting clips for any plastic shields that cover the headlight lens mounting screws or clips.
  • Some headlight bulbs can be replaced by simply grasping the bulb socket behind the headlight lens and turn it counter clockwise to remove it. This will expose the headlight bulb.
  • If the headlight bulb socket is not accessible the headlight lens may need to be remove or obstructions behind the bulb removed to gain access to the headlight bulb socket.
  • To remove the headlight lens remove all mounting screws and clips that hold the headlight lens in place.
  • After the headlight housing has been removed from it's mounts, release the headlight bulb from the headlight lens housing (turn counter clockwise) the bulb will then come out of the headlight assembly. Once removed, visually verify that the replacement bulb is exactly the same as the failed bulb before to ensure a proper repair.
  • Clean the headlight lens free from all debris to help maintain the seal from the bulb to the lens. This will keep moisture out of the lens.
  • Install the new headlight bulb by turning the retainer ring or bulb clockwise.
  • Re-install the headlight lens housing and reinstall electrical connector.
  • Re-install plastic covers.
After the job is complete turn the ignition key to the "on" position and activate the headlight switch. Observe the newly replaced headlight bulb to ensure proper operation.

Glad to be of help!!!

Exploded view of the rear light assembly used on the Explorer/Mountaineer models

c17hydro_103.gif

The Explorer/Mountaineer models only use two upper lens retaining screws, the bottom use barbed push pins

  1. Remove the 2 (Explorer/Mountaineer models) or 4 (Ranger models) screws retaining the lamp assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Remove the lamp assembly from the vehicle by pulling it outward. On the Explorer/Mountaineer models, make sure the 2 barbed retainers at the bottom of the assembly release.

Grasp the bulb socket then twist and pull it out of the lens assembly

Remove the bulb from the socket by pulling it straight out

  1. Remove the lamp sockets from the lens housing by twisting it, then pulling outward.
  2. Remove the bulb from the socket by pulling it straight outward.

To install:

  1. Install the bulb into the lamp socket.
  2. Install the lamp socket to the lens and twist it to lock it in position.
  3. Position the lens assembly to the body. On Explorer/Mountaineer models, ensure that the barbed retainers are aligned with their mounting clips, and press the assembly until fully seated.
  4. Install the lens assembly retaining screws (four screws used on the Ranger and 2 on the Explorer/Mountaineer).
  5. Check the operation of the lights.

HOW DO YOU TAKE OFF HEADLIGHT COVERS FOR 2001 JEEP CHEROKEE

In general you don't. If you are just replacing the bulbs, you rotate the 3" collar behind the lens about 10 degrees, and then it and the bulb pull out. If the lens is cracked and needs to be removed, I ended up taking off the whole bumper cover and both sides light clusters all at the same time. The individual hold down screws could not be accessed any other way it seemed to me. There was too much stuff in the way, and had to be accessed from behind.

usually if it's outside access, there are 2 screws to remove the lens to access the bulb.

If it's inside access, look in the back side of the deck lid for hand access to the bulb socket

Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Before installing the lens, make sure the brake light operates properly by having an assistant depress the brake pedal.

Remeove rear combination tail light cover 2006 Nissan XTERRA

thode screws hold the lens or the light assembly? Allow for the whole tail light to come out and the bulb plug will be accessible. I never had the privilage. But how the lens fits will tell you. If the lens goes overthe edges, the whole unit comes out, lens is sealed. Good luck

How difficult is changing brake light on 2004 Envoy?

Hi. Its quite easy and i have a guide that will help you achieve your goal.

Step1 Determine how the bulb is accessed: On some models the lens (the red or white plastic part over the light) must be unscrewed from the outside, and on others the bulb is accessible only from inside the trunk. If there are no screws on the lens, you can assume that the bulb must be replaced from inside. Usually there will be a plastic cover that must be removed in order to access the bulb. There may be tabs, screws or small knobs that hold this plastic cover in place. Step2 replacelight_2s.jpg Unscrew the lens on the outside, or take off the plastic cover from inside the trunk, to reveal the bulb. Step3 replacelight_3s.jpg Unscrew the bulb. You'll have to push in and turn at the same time. Step4 Take the bulb with you to the auto supply store to help you find an exact duplicate. Step5 replacelight_5s.jpg Clean the connection with a wire brush and/or wipe it clean with a rag if there's any corrosion. Step6 replacelight_6s.jpg Screw the new bulb into the empty socket. Again, you'll have to push in and turn simultaneously. Line up the tiny raised bumps on the base of the bulb in order to screw it in. Step7 Replace the lens or the plastic cover. Step8 replacelight_8s.jpg Test your work by stepping on the brakes and turning on the headlights while a friend watches the new bulb to make sure it lights up.

Please rate and god bless.

Can't get lens of interior dome light off to replace bulb.

Yes.
Open up the sunglasses holder and there might be a screw holding it in place there. There is also another screw underneath the main body, just unsnap the cover plate to access it.

The entire console slide back away from the windshield about 1/2" once the screws are removed, then drops away.

2004 nissan maxima rear bulb replacement??

There is a plastic cover on the lens that covers the screws that hold the lamp on to the body. CAREFULLY pry the cover off to access screws, remove the screws and CAREFULLY pry the lens off. Replace bulb(s) reinstall after checking to see if bulbs are in fact working.
