Have you tested the fuel pump yet? you do not need to remove it to do so.
if you have not tested the fuel pump yet, test for fuel pressure at the fuel test port on the fuel rail. if you have no fuel pressure, then test for voltage at the fuel pump fuse and relay. if all is well, and your final test for voltage at the weather pac terminal above the tank is good, then you should replace the fuel pump assy, or the wire leading to the pump itself in the tank. 99-01 gm vehicles have a poorly constructed fuel pump wire which tends to cause intermittent connectivity.

to get to the fuel pump, you will need a fuel line tool ( cheap and redily avail) used to diconect the snap over lines from the pump assy. there are two large straps holding the fuel tank in the vehicle, and the tank will need to be removed in order to get the pump assy out. there are two weather pac terminals on the top of the pump assy, and two fuel lines that will need to be removed. finally, the pump is held in the tank by a snap ring. after removal of the snap ring, the unit should lift easily out of the tank.

check the fuel pump, are you getting fuel preasure to the injectors, you may need a gauge to test this,or if you spary the throttle body will it start if it does then i would say its the feulpump, start there first.

1994 jimmy fuel shutown @spider?

Hi

A very common failure on these is the CPFI unit , or SPIDER as people like to call it.

There is one single injector which feeds each cylinder via a pipe and poppet. The injector becomes blocked and the engine won't start or run.

Before you go condemning this though, just make sure you have good fuel pressure because the fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump could also have a hand in the problem. Make sure the pump is running, and if not then check the fuse, the relay, and the pump itself.

Very best regards

Geordie
