Question about Chrysler PT Cruiser
Hi my name is Allen!
There are two posibilities here:
1-Sometimes if a car has high mileage, when changing the pads we often leave the caliper and hose hanging down and it will bend the hose where the bracket holds the hose to the body and it will crimp it so the fluid doesn't flow back to the master cylinder the way it should and this will keep the calipers compressed. But its not likely that both calipers will lock up at the same time. So the next solution is the most likely, but could be the first also.
2-Sometimes when changing pads we compress the caliper piston back without opening the bleed port and debris within system will feed back into the master cylinder and block it from working properly.
NOTE: To be sure the problem goes away and stays away, if you have high mileage I suggest changing the master cylinder and both hoses, and calipers.
NOTE: If you want to do a through job, replace the calipers also, this is up to you and your pocket book, are, you could try one thing at a time. First Hoses, then master cylinder, then calipers. As it could be any of the three doing it and its impossible to know which one.
