Question about 1996 Dodge Intrepid
The starter may of went of the vechicle , normally when you just get a click its the starter. The battery can also do that, if your cables are not tight enough. I would check your battery cables first and see if you have to tighen them because that happens alot with vechicles. But I would say the main problem would be the starter. If you know where the starter is have someone try to start it while you hit the starter with a hammer sometimes they freeze up and it should start if not maybe one of the wires burned off from the starter.

Well the altenator could have went bad and caused the car to turn off. sometimes a jump just wont work. and as far as the lights and things working the battery will have enough power to work the small electrics but not to start the car. have your altenator checked as well as your battery
