The fuel filter has a black plastic coupler covering it, and yes, they make a tool at one of the cheap stores, I use the same set, that slips over the line and removes the oring lock, its very simple and costs less that 10 bucks.

1991 Ford ranger 4 wheel drive slave cylinder how to change it

Transmission removal will be required for replacement of the slave cylinder as well as a special tool needed to disconnect the hydraulic line from the cylinder. You can anticipate it being a 6-7 hour job having the correct tools on hand

Grease in rear wheel hub

The rear brake cylinders are located inside the hub with the brake shoes on drum brakes...(common in 2004 Rangers on rear only) The brake cylinders are a "wear item" with seals...we used to rebuild the cylinder with new seals...best today to buy new brake cylinders to replace the leakey ones...You will need to bleed all 4 brake line/wheel connections after the replacement. Hope this helps.

How do you remove the hose on a slave cylinder for a 96 ford ranger

There is a special tool to push the white collar down to remove the line from the clutch slave cylinder. Most clutch kits come with this tool but it is easily available from most parts stores. If you have the tool, lubricate the sleeve and push the line into the slave cylinder to release the holding fingers, then push on the sleeve with the tool and pull straight out on the line to remove. Sometimes they can be a pain. another solution is remove the whole line up to the master cylinder with it, you just have to route it accordingly. I have done this with some that wont disconnect.

Fuel pump

There are two metal straps that hold the tank in the vehicle. First you will need to disconnect the filler neck from the tank and any other black vent hoses that will pose a problem. Place a floor jack under the fuel tank and remove 2 bolts (1 in each strap). Then carefully lower the tank. You will need a special tool for the actual fuel lines where they are connected to the pump. It is called a quick disconnect tool. Once the tank is free of the vehicle you will see the pump housing on top. Most likely has about 8-8mm bolts that will need removed-and there is your fuel pump.. Labor guide calls for 2hrs -normally takes about 45mins to complete..
