There is an EGR vacuum solenoid somwhere that controls on/off vacuum to actuate the valve. i am not to sure of the location, but follow the vacuum line back from the egr until you find a device that looks like an electrical check valve for vacuum. that is a possibilty. but then again i am a ford, chrysler guy and am just giving you an answer based on my understanding of the functuality of a vacuum egr system

400 325 codes obd reader

the 325 seems to be an on going problem in some older late 90,s--97 etc nissans [the code is usually stored but dosent set off check engine light [mil] the 325 code is knock sensor 1 circuit malfunction [bank 1 or only one sensor]as to the 400 egr flow malfunction [exhaust gas recirculation] the egr valve may be carboned up vacuum leak -check the vacuum line to unit if good than remove and clean with carb or brake cleaner to clean off carbon and free up valve if valve damaged or to badly carboned to repair replace good luck

97 oldsmobile sihouette error code p0400. Was told by Advance auto it was a bad egr canister solenoid. Replaced it but still have check engine light on. How do I get it off?

After you have made the repairs go back to Advance Auto and have them remove this stored trouble code .Most places will remove them from your computer for free.

I am getting p0400 and p 0402 codes. checked the egr valve works fine. checked egr solenoid for resistance and it is fine. no lines are clogged. the code comes back. i am only getting 4 volts to the egr...

Hello and thank you for using Fixya!

I know you say there is nothing clogged. How ever, it's very common to get a Egr code P0400 when the egr tube is clogged. Remove just the Egr tube, the one with the egr temp sensor. Remove the EGR temp sensor and remove any carbon build up in the pipe. Then make sure the passeges in the intake are clear also.

If you have any more questions on this, please feel free to ask. Thanks Jay!

Code P1400 on a 1997 nissan maxima. help car wont pass inspection

P1400 on your vehicle is described as :Differential Pressure Feedback EGR Circuit Low Input You either need a new DPFE valve, or a new EGR valve. Both can be tested for functionality before replacing them both. EGR valve is more likely I think. Cleaning it may not improve its performance, but its worth a try. Also check the vacuum lines between the DPFE and EGR system. The EGR valve and DPFE are usually close together above the exhaust manifold/downpipe. you need service instructions to test these items, suggest you go to a garage really...
