1.6L Petrol,5 speed manual,..The symptoms are that I get a lot of jerks as if there is some intermittent current supply to the engine.Assume you are running the car at 10Kmph in the 5th gear, you get kinda jerks, thats the problem even If I am at 2000RPM and in 2nd gear at a speed of 30-40 Kmph.Lets say I have these jerks when I run the car in lesser than 50Kmph and when I am not accelerating.

    Hi,

Recently I had changed the entire ignition distributor assembly, spark plugs and the cables for spark plugs. It is since then I have this problem.I have also tried changing the cables again, but did not help.SHould I change the plugs and try>>

  • Toyota Ed May 11, 2010

Did you have the timing reset to specifications when you changed the distributor?

  • Toyota Ed May 11, 2010

It sounds like you are in need of a tune-up. The symptoms you are describing are similar to worn-out spark plugs, faulty ignition cables/spark plug wires, worn distributor cap and rotor. Have any of those items been changed? Please advise.

Inspect the old ignition cycle which is out.Is there any problem noticed of Ignition cylinder getting worn out.
Because when issue of ignition not turning off,its faulty ignition lock cylinder or faulty ignition switch.I suggest re-inspect the new ignition cylinder.

2010 corolla key stuck in ignition

It can be faulty ignition lock cylinder.I suggest to wiggle the steering wheel a bit and see if the key gets released out.If that is not helping then first turn steering wheel to right and try removing the key,or next turn steering wheel to left and see if you can remove the key.
----------
Spray wd-40 in the ignition key hole and let it remain there for few minutes, after that once again try to remove the key and see if that helps.
---------
But if that is not helping then ignition lock cylinder has to be removed out and key has to be manually removed.
-----------

check ignition coil see if its getting battery power check black and pink ignition wire going to ignition coil.if you not getting power check the 20AMP ignition fuse.if power going to ignition coil, problem could be bad ignition coil or bad ignition module or pcm problems, best have vechicle code scan for pcm fault or crankshaft position sensor or ignition module fault.

Vw ignition problems

The ignition switch is the main electrical switch in your car. When a key is placed inside the ignition and turned, it is supposed to start your vehicle's engine. you may encounter problems with the ignition switch. The process of fixing it is the same for all vehicles. If your Honda has an automatic transmission, make sure it is in park. The key will not turn in the ignition otherwise.

Key won't turn in ignition

This problem is related to stuck up or cracked ignition cylinder. There are many other ford focus users facing the same problem. In some cases wiggling the key in the ignition helped but in most of the cases the ignition cylinder has to be replaced. And the new key has to be re-programmed.The cost of all this stuff is near to $300.Some users claimed this problem to the local ford dealers and they go this problem solved by the dealer but in some cases the car owners paid $300 for getting this problem solved. But first you can try bit of wiggling the key in the ignition and check. Also apply some wd-40 spray in the key ignition hole and let it remain there for few minutes then recheck by wiggling the key and check. ---------------------You can click this link below and read what others have to say about this same problem of " key won\'t turn in ignition on 2003 Ford Focus". http://www.carcomplaints.com/Ford/Focus/2003/accessories-interior/key_wont_turn_in_the_ignition.shtml --------------- That's it.

Ignition module

Hi...
The Ignition module of your Century.
Is located UNDER THE IGNITION COILS.
The ignition coils are tie on the ignition module.
But LET ME tell you, something about your problem with the battery,
The Ignition Module is the LESS posible to Drain the Battry,
Because only use 3 connector, and the Ign. module is powered
with the ignition switch, is mean when you Turn the key to OFF.
All the power of the Ign. module Cut off.
If the ignition has no power when the car is OFF, impossible
Drain the battery,

I recomend check that all the lights went off after you close all the doors. Check the glove box light, Trunk light.
Some times the Factory Radio on chevys give up this problem, If the car is equipaded with a Aftermarket alarm.
You should check the circuit.

I'm a mechanic,
I hope this help on your problem.
Thank you for use fixya...
