How do we remove the interior ceiling on our '03 Ford Taurus SES?

Yuck! We've had mice get up into the ceiling. The car has a sunroof. We believe the mice have died, because there is a terrible smell. How on earth do we remove this to clean it out? Please help!

You need to remove all of the trim pieces around the doors and up the pillars, also remove teh central upper display and sun visors. in most cases you will need to remove seat belt shoulder straps this will require a torx bit. it is essentially held up by everything that comes in contact with it. lots of pushclips and a few screws. good luck, hope you find your culprit.

The condenser unfortunately must be replaced from under the car, so the job is best left to a shop with a car lift.

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus SES and the inter door lights will not turn on. (Red door lights) I have check the fuses and everything sames to be OK. Whats next.

the interior light may have a switch on it so as you can select OFF (light wont come on at all) or DOOR (only comes on when a door is opened) or ON ( stays on until it is is switched off) I'm not sure if your light has this option but check to make sure, alternately the bulb may be blown.....hope this helps......cheers.

Which fuse is for the interior lights?

From what I've been able to research, and not knowing the model of taurus, i think it may be fuse #17. Discussion forums state that the fuse that controls the interior lights also controls the audio system.

How do we remove the interior ceiling on our '03 Ford Taurus?

The lovely odor may just be the mouse nest, as mice are filthy house keepers. They use their nest for bathroom facilities and never clean house. Not quite sure how to take apart, but a vac. w/ a long slender attachment (for cleaning under refrigerators) may work around the sunroof openings. Try baking soda around sunroof , it will help absorb the odor. Try several applications, leave open box in closed car overnight, vac any u spread around the car. Good luck,

You need to Remove The Trim Panels all around the top and the Sunroof and you will see the Fasteners. You will have to take the whole Headliner out so as not to Risk Breaking it.
