Question about 1997 Toyota Corolla
The driver seat window of my 1997 toyota corolla 1.6 gli does not roll up close after it has been rolled down open. There are times that I have to wait a while before it rolls up again. But most of the time it stays half open. Nowadays I dont open it anymore. I've had it fixed so many times but the fix does not take long.
Check the appearance of the door window rubber tracks. Are they warped or distorted? If so, the motor has to work harder to raise the glass past distorted window guides. If the rubber guides are distorted in any way, they need to be replaced. If not, the motor may be weak, and it may need to be replaced.

Sounds like weak motor. You can find window motor/regulator assemblies online at a reasonable price. Replacing is not too hard. The door panel has to come off. The window is held onto the regulator by two bolts. Roll down slightly to bring the bolts into view, loosen, then raise the window and use adhesive tape to hold it in the up position while you remove the regulator. The regulator itself is held on the doorframe with four bolts.
