2006 MINI COOPER WON'T COME OUT OF MANUAL / SPORT DRIVE

MY 2006 MINI COOPER " AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION" IS STUCK IN THE M/S (MANUAL SPORT) MODE. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO GET IT BACK INTO THE NORMAL "D" DRIVE WITHOUT SUCCESS. I PUSHED THE SHIFTER BACK TO THE LEFT, BUT IT STILL WONT GO BACK IN NORMAL DRIVE POSITION. I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND STARTED IT AGIAN, PUTING THE SHIFTER IN DRIVE, BUT NO LUCK. I DROVE IT A SHORT DISTANCE SLOW, TRYING TO PUSH THE SHIFTER BACK TO THE LEFT, BUT NO LUCK.

Sounds like an transmission control module problem I have seen this and often times just replaced the trans mission control module and found everything working properly again.

Am seeing this with an 06 mcs, along with EP mode and rough shift into reverse and drive. Had recently replaced valve body with updated solenoids, and was driving perfectly before suddenly going into EP mode.

Going to replace TCM and see if that fixes it.

How can i install another automatic transmision fluid cooler to a 2006 mini cooper s

air transmission oil coolers lower oil temp by over 60%( more it the ambient temp is low) so yes they are the way to go
what is suggested is that you go to an accredited transmission specialist shop and get a kit made for mini cars and see how to fit it properly
They are not cheap( up to $500.00 aud ) but will ,save in transmission costs over time

Whilst driving the rev counter goes to max and back quickly and car has to be stopped and put into netturak to go again and also when coming to a stop sign the car pushes to go on and has to be put in

1. Is your car an automatic with sport mode? Because sometimes if the car gets hit into sport mode accidentally, it will rev to extremely high RPM (because it is waiting for the driver to indicate shift timing).

My mini cooper is blowing cold air inside when the car is hot and it start overheating

Clarence,
your mini-cooper may just need a new thermostat. if the thermostat in your car is the original, then 4 years is a goodly amount of time for any thermostat to last. Thermostats fail in 2 ways: (A) stuck open, which causes engine to warm really slowly, and (b) stuck closed, causing overheating and
causing the heater to blow cold air - since the heated coolant can't get past the closed thermostat to
circulate through the heater core (a small radiator-like device used to heat the interior of your car).
Your car's thermostat has failed in mode (B).
Your cost: $5-$15 at any auto parts store.
Project complexity: any handy person could teach themselves to replace a thermostat.
