If you've changed the filter by yourself, it's possible that you could have forgotten to enable the fuel pump, which you had to turn off before changing the fuel filter. (If I remember correctly) It's on the passenger side up near the suspension on/off switch, but on the side of the vehicle, not towards the front where the suspension switch is. Best of luck.

SOURCE: not getting gas

Disconnect the fuel line at the filter, wrap in cloth and put a jar over it. Activate the fuel pump and see if there is flow. Just because the fuel pump whines does not mean it is pumping fuel. I have seen the impellers and seals fail but the motor work, especially after running out of gas when ethanol enhanced gas was used. If there is flow, Follow the lines up to the engine, paying close attention to the jacking areas. I have seen garages crush fuel lines under the car with their floor jacks. If that's all OK, locate the rubber section of the return line between the engine and firewall. Working from underneath, up, it's the second largest line under the car. Pinch off the rubber line and try starting the car. If it starts and runs, replace the fuel pressure regulator which is stuck open.

I changed the fuel pump to my car but still it can't start and the engine is 1zz

Assuming fuel pump was in gas tank unless older vehicle, in front of gas tank under the car will be a fuel filter...canister a miniature coke can...has one line coming from gas tank, one coming from front of filter to engine, will either have lines that thread into filter or plastic clips you remove and take lines off..take filter off and dump into a clear bottle, if gas is dirty or has trash you prob need to replace fuel fiter..also you should be able to blow through the filter without virtually any resistance..if its not similar to blowing through a straw..filter is clogged..also you can just take fuel line off in front of filter...have someone turn the key to on position...when you turn key to on not crank just on..fuel pump powers on for a couple seconds and if filter isn't clogged you should have fuel come out the front side of fuel filter

Stored 2007 Toyota solara turns over great but won't fire

when store a vehicle with ethanol gas the gas can evaporate and the gas gauge can get stuck. first see if it has a fuel filter. if it does change it and then you need to go to the fuel valve. take the cap off and take a small flat head screw driver press in on the fuel valve. if fuel comes out and it does not crank then you have a firing issue. make sure after you change the fuel filter to cycle the key 4 times to the on off position so the filter can fill up with fuel. if that does not work then you have a firing problem. you may need to put some good gas in on top of the old fuel.

How do you get the change fuel filter off on a 06 chevy diesel

You could try... Turn the key on (engine off) and press the gas pedal to the floor 3 times within 5 secs of turning the key on. That's how u reset the oil change indicator may work for the fuel filter

How do you drain the gas tanks on a 1989 Ford Econoline Club Wagon?

Not sure if you can get at it but..
Look at the tank where the fill hose comes in and see if
you can loosen the clamp and remove the filler tubeit would be easy to siphon from there.
I would also change the fuel filter.
The fan clutch,,if you grab it by a blade and spin it ,it shouldn't
go around more than a 1 turn or less. If it spins any more it is bad.
If you can't get at the filler neck, since it's fuel injected you could pump the fuel out at the filter connection.. Have to jump the relay tho.

1999 saab cranks wont start

Disconnect your fuel filter and turn the key on. If it shoots gas several feet away, then the start cycle on the fuel pump is probably good. if not, then get a new fuel pump. If it's good, then the problem will be in your fuel regulator, or injectors.

No fuel getting to carburator

Change the fuel filter. If that doesn't work? Check the line from the tank to the carb. If that doesn't work? Disconnect the line from the carb and turn key on or turn the engine over If no gas comes out? You need a fuel pump.

Water in fuel light just started to come on intermittently. Changed the fuel filters 3 weeks ago or 7500 miles back. Had never changed the filters on fuel or transmission since the first 80,000 miles....

The change in temperature from Las Vegas to Alaska could have resulted in condensation building up in your fuel tank. Also you could have gotten some diesel fuel contaminated with water. The transmission oil should be changed as per manufactures suggestion or at least every 50,00 miles especially if you are towing.

How do you check to see if fuel pump went bad on 2004 Nissan Tita

Careful doing this. Disconnect the fuel filter line between the tank and the filter. Have a bucket or equivalent below to catch incomimg gasoline pouring out. Have some one turn the ignition key to on. Do Not Try and turn the key to START!! Just turn the key to the ON position. This will kick in the oil switch to feed gas to the engine for 5 seconds. If gas comes out the pump works. Reconnect the filter and try again. If no start is happening still disconnect the fuel filter's line towards the front of the engine this time. Turn the key ON. If gas comes out the filter is fine. If not the filter is clogged up fully

1996 Pontiac Grand Am will start but won't stay running

Either security chip in the ignition switch has failed or the security system has triggered. Try turning the key on and let the security light flash till it goes on steady. If it does not start, change ignition lock.
