I have the same problem. Ranger will turn over but wont start. Seems like its not getting gas. HELP

I have a 1998 Mazda B4000. 2 days ago it would turn over but would not start. Had it towed to the repair shop. There it started every time. What would anyone suggest I do with it as the mechanics are unable to find out what is wrong. It is a bit nerve racking to drive it when I don't know when it might quit again. This is a Ranger by another name.

When this happens check for spark at the plug,
and have someone crank it over for you and check for fuel pressure at the bleeder valve is there fuel but just trickles out check with pressure gauge.
next check crank sensor if you have a dis system.
if all else fails check the ECM or the ignition module
hope this helps

When it stops check the fuel pressure. Also check for fault codes as this maybe ignition related as well.

1994 ford ranger ran ot of gas now won't start. Put fuel in it made sure saftey switch (reset switch) was okay. But still wont start. Fuel pump seems to be working. Any suggestions ...

Do you know what the fuel pressure is at?

Try this. While somebody cranks the engine over whack the bottom of the fuel tank (about dead center) with a rubber mallet. If the vehicle starts replace the pump. The fuel pump is kept cool by the fuel in the tank. Running the tank dry is hard on the fuel pump.

have the fuel pressure and volume tested with a gage.this sounds and acts like a fuel pump problem.check the fuel filter as well and replace anyways.when it won`t start but cranks can you hear the fuel pump running.listen at the fuel filler neck with the gas cap off.if you can`t listen under the car at the fuel tank you should hear it running/if not hit the gas tank and if the car starts then the pump needs replacing.you should check to make sure you are getting spark at the spark plugs to eliminate an ignition problem but i think its fuel.

Recheck the fuel pressure. I have replaced them after one day. Most new ones I replaced inbetween 30 to 60 days. Chinese ****. Even OEM can go bad, but I have replaced more new pumps from autozone than anywhere else. Advance is next.

Car ran fine one day, not it will crank but not

Your fuel system requires 35-45 PSI. If you don't have this pressure in the line then your fuel filter or fuel pump is at fault.
