After van has run for awhile it is hard to start
You will need to figure out if it is lacking fuel pressure or spark to the plugs when it fails to start. The problem could be a relay, coil, or several other electrical problems.
Usually, if the engine is hot when the problem occurs, and letting it cool down will allow it to start again, the cause is electrical.

Check to see if the fuel pump is kicking in,
when you turn the key on without starting the van you should hear it kick on for about 2 seconds,
It could be...
A clogged fuel filter...
Blown fuse for the pump..or bad pump relay..
No gas
Bad fuel pump

The distributor in that engine can only be installed in one position. The hold down is built onto the distributor meaning when it is installed and the engine runs the computer is responsible for the timing. The distributor will move a little but won't correct major timing errors.

You don't reset it, you resolve what is causing it to register an error. You need to pull the codes from the computer and proceed with testing based on those clues.
