Timing for a 1997 mazda 626 2.0L

Have a book but no direction on how to short the computer.Says there are two ways but i have shorted the diagnostic plug with a jumper wire and no matter how much I turn the distributor no change in the timing mark.Is this the wrong way and i have to disconnect the timing short connector? If so where is it located the book tells you noting on this!

I have sent two pictures of the 1997 mazda 626 2.0L.I have only 119,625 miles on it.The codes that were read when I had a diagnosis were.P0171B- system to lean,P0300B- random multiple misfire,P0421 warm up catalyst efficiency bank 1 below threshold and P1131 manufacture controlled fuel and air metering malfunction recommend replace maf sensor.(I have replaced the mass air flow and the sputtering has since left so the only problem I have now is the timing that won't set.I tried jumping it again and to no avail the timing mark stays at 12 degrees with little flutter plus or minus no matter how much the distributor is turned..There is no other connector that I can see as the book reads! Help! Ps the idle in drive feels real low and the oil light flickers even set at 700 rpm as the under hood label requires. No timing information on the label though.

There are two idle screws-one on the throttle plate and one in front vertically. Someone said they are the high and low idle. (?) I understand I’ll have to adjust the idle first utilizing the jumper from ten to battery ground. Got it around 800 - 850rpm and check my timing with the same setup and the timing mark is all the way to the far right of the timing bar. I loosing up my distributor and rotated from stop to stop with no movement of the timing mark. Remove the valve cover, top timing cover and rotated the crankshaft to TDC with #1 plug at dist as well and noticed the two cam marks are off one teeth. Is there an easy way to readjust the timing belt without going through the whole timing belt removal procedure? I feel this must be done first before the idle is set correctly, but hope that an adjustment for the camshaft timing belt can be done. Thanks in Advance!!!

right you will need to adjust the idle before you can adjust timing to do this you will need a jumper wire go into your diagnostic plug look for plug is for tens should tell you on cap if not there its the one its the one on top row 2nd from right connect your jumper wire to this & then other end connect to battery negative if you can't find it just connect wire to negative terminal on battery you should then hear engine idle drop don't worry this is normal all you need to do now is to adjust idle upto manufactures spec which is 750 to 850rpm (roughly) once thats done now you can adjust timing same as before keep jumper wire in diagnostic plug as above and adjust timing using timing gun reason for jumper wire is to disconnect ecu so you can do service adjustments hope this is useful info to you let me know how you get on.

Is there a belt I can put on my 1997 Mazda Millenia that will bypass my AC compressor all together?

-It's possible. If the compressor is not on the way you can use a short belt.

check all of your wires with wire tester. maybe they are being shorted out somewhere. Check your fuses to make sure none are blown/bad. Check the light bulbs to make sure they aren;t blown.

Airbag warning lights flashing on dashboard of mazda premacy 52 reg can I reset to clear these lights myself?

there are a quite a few problems associated with the airbag light flashing. The light will flash in long and short frequencies, this is a diagnostic code, e.g. two long flashes followed by six short flashes equals code 26, which is clockspring. Other codes are: 46 and 47 connector under seat, 3 power supply etc.

Supercharger in a 2.5 engine

Superchargers are very cool stuff, but they are very expensive to buy, difficult to maintain and if the engine is not in top notch condition and specially prepared for the extra cylinder pressures likely you will blow it up shortly after installing it. I used to build blown fuel engines and know what goes into them, and what happens to them (even the most expensive and best prepared have short lives.) Granted a street unit wont make the boost I'm familiar with but the result is the same. So, even if you can find a kit somewhere, be prepared to own a pile of scrap metal shortly thereafter...

you *need* to stop driving the car and have the onboard diagnostic computer scanned. The cheapest way to do this is to go to an autozone - they will give you a module to plug into your car, then bring it back to the store and they will give you a printout.

When the CEL is flashing, it generally means something catastrophic has occurred or will occur shortly.
