Question about 2002 Ford SVT Focus

Ford Mondeo locking fault

The central locking keeps locking on it's own. It happens both when putting kids in the back (& keys are in my pocket) & also when I am driving. I find this only happens when it is cold/icey. Am worried kids may get locked in the car - any help or advice would be great.

Both. I unlock the car & put kids in and it has happened. It also happens when I am driving.

I also find when I lock the drivers door from inside, the rest of the doors do not lock. (they normally do).

    Thanks

I have the same / similar issue with my Mondeo Zetec. Mine appears to be damp/wet weather related though where the problem is located I do not know, although, if memory serves, the locking niose (clunk!!!) started in the car rear without, as now, activating the central locking,

My central locking is only opening the drivers door on my x reg(2000) mondeo can you help.

i think you need a new door lock mechanism on the drivers door ,its like a computer in the back of that lock and its the most common fault although it could be the wiring where it leaves the door pillar and goes into the door via a rubber boot and the wires can get damaged also the big multiplug thats their and you are in the UK where its always wet and cold

Alarm keeps going off about 15 mins after doors are locked.the car is a w reg ford mondeo.the car has to lie overnight with its doors unlocked.

Sounds like interior sensor, untill you get it sorted lock car with key not remote .It won,t be alarmed but it will be locked.
Go to your local auto elec to diagnose fault.

Ford mondeo 02plt. Central locking fault

I will say you are having problem with central locking vacuum module.Either that or you are loosing vacuum in the central locking system some where.Diagnostic procedure can be pain in the ***.I would advise you to locate the Module and follow the lines to each door.If rubber vacuum lines are not thorn,I would go and get to salvage yard and get me another module that would be much cheaper. Also there is two relays. One is for unlocking and other one for locking.Try those first before anything else.Usually humidity and cold could damage them.Hope I could help you.

Ford mondeo bonnet lock

This is a very common fault on the fords, if i get one in, i generally soak it in WD40 then keep working it back and forward untill the mechanism releases.
If the lock is completely gone then ive had to go as far as breaking the grille off and opening it manually with a scrrewdriver, but this is last resort.

Good luck
