OK, it may not have the box, the later models do, now u need to check the fusible links at the starter motor, they burn out in a situation like yours.

look in the underhood fuse box for a maxi fuse that is blown, it will be 40 or more Amp fuse.

My1998 explorer just quit it won't start i got new

The 98 explorer is equipped with a power surge system to protect internal vehicle wiring, what this means is that if there is a short in the vehicles wiring the alternator will disengage. A way to tell if it is faulty wiring is to pull all the fuses out of the fuse block and try to start it if the engine turns over the problem is internal wiring. If not then you have to put all the fuses back.

Charging a dead battery, when i hook up the battery the windshield wipers and parking lights stay on even though they are off on the interior of the car. how do i stop this so i dont drain the battery to...

ISSUE # 1: Dead Battery - you're assuming Issue # 2 is causing Issue # 1
ISSUE # 2: Windshied wipers and parking light stay on (even when they are 'OFF')
ISSUE # 3: How do I stop this

Take the car into an authorized Hyundai Service Department and have it PROPERLY/ACCURATELY diagnosed. Pay the Diagnostic Fee and find out EXACTLY what the problem is and WHAT will be needed to FIX IT.

You obviously have a SHORT CIRCUIT (power drain) on the battery (based on your description). Since you don't have the knowledge/expertise yourself, find someone who DOES!
When it DOUBT, find OUT!

I can't tell you HERE what's causing your problem (NO ONE COULD)... They'd just be giving you 'GUESSING DIAGNOSIS GAMES'!... I could give you STEP-BY-STEP procedures here, but you would have to have some BASIC understanding of ELECTRICITY!... which isn't appropriate here on FIXYA.COM

2004 ford focus se replaced alternator couple of mnths ago went to start this morn battery dead charged battery still no start. jumped of another battery started but when removed jumper cables car died

Sounds to me that your battery has shorted out and will not take a charge.Disconnect the battery and try to charge it, then check to see if it has taken power with a volt meter. A shorted battery will take all the power from the alternator and run it to ground leaving no power to run the car. Also check the alternator output with a volt meter after you have checked the battery as a shorted battery can burn out the alternator.

I have a 1995 gmc sierra 4x4. It blows transmission fuses. When i unplug the wiring harnes from the transmission it stops blowing fuses. Is the short in the trans or in the harness? How do you tell?

The short is inside the trans, but you will need to take the pan off and trace each wire to find out where the short actually is. You have narrowed it down pretty well. One way to really narrow it down before you take the trans out is to unplug the connector and put battery power to the PINK wire cavity. Now take a jumper wire with a 10 amp fuse and touch each wire until the fuse blows. The TAN/BLACK is the Torque Converter Clutch solenoid. BROWN is the 2/3 shift solenoid. Lt. Green is Shift Solenoid "A" and YELLOW/BLACK is Shift Solenoid "B". Those 4 solenoids are powered by the Trans Fuse.

1998 Corvette drains the battery in less than 2 days.

No, corrosion will not cause a battery to drain, even if the corrosion is on the terminals. Several factors can cause battery drain, I would first have the battery tested to see if the battery it self is not bad. If the battery is good, then the most common is a short. All most all new cars have a certain amount of drain,(measured in milivolts) this drain is for clocks and computer memory's, and it would take several days of a vehicle sitting for the battery to be drained. Don't immediately assume you have a problem if you see 2-6 milivolts of drain on a battery with the key out, now if your battery is being drained after being parked over night, you have a problem. The easiest way to pin down the problem short is to disconnect your positive battery cable from the battery, take a 12 volt test light and clamp one end to the positive cable, and hold the probe to the positive post. Now if you have a short the light will come on. Have someone help you by pulling the fuses one at a time. If when a fuse is pulled the light goes out you have isolated the short to that system. If you pulled all the fuses and the light never went out try disconnecting all the wires from the alternator, 9 times outta 10 do this will let you know where your short is. If the system is not critical like power locks some people just leave the fuse out.
