You need to replace the distribotor drive gear on the distributor shaft. the cam gear shreds the dist. gear, and then this code pops up.. In some cases easire to just replace the distributor

P1345 code. 2000 Chevy 7.4, fresh rebuilt engine. Cam retard is -16 and +19 one tooth over. Turning distributor at 1000 rpms does not change number. This is a new distributor and a new crank sensor.

I have a 2000 cadillac escalade and my check engine light is on n I got codes p1345 and p1626 I changed the crankshaft sensor and now my truck won't start

DTC P1345 indicates a CKP and/or CMP position sensor problem. Probable causes:
1. Defective sensor(s)
2. Damaged or corroded connector terminal contact(s)
3. Wire harness problem. Check for correct voltage, open, short to ground, short to voltage.
4. Control unit software needs updating
5. Faulty PCM or ECM

There is no DTC 1626 for that year.

P0014 and p1345 codes

Hello billscranese,

The P0014 is a cam phasing code. The phasing system is a hydraulic actuated phase shifting system and is vulnerable to dirty oil. If its been sometime since your last oil change I would recommend that you start with that. The control module turns off the MIL after 3 consecutive ignition cycles that the diagnostic runs and does not fail.

The P1345 could be caused by the P0014. The powertrain control module monitors the correlation between the crank and cam positions and if the deviation between the two exceeds a predetermined amount it will set the code.

Good luck.

netvan

I own a 1999 GMC Jimmy that i recently had new plugs wires dist cap rotor camshaft sensor and crankshaft sensor. It seems the service engine soon light came on.When put on a diagnostic machine its telling...

The machine it talking about code P1345 CKP/CMP sensor correlition Do the engines RPMS fluctuate at idle or if you try to hold it at a steady speed if so then check the connection at the CKP make sure it is getting voltage its installed correctly and so on. If no problems are found then you need to check the distributor shaft remove the cap and see if the rotor turns on the dist shaft if it dose then thats the problem and eigther must be replaced or rebuilt thats the distributor it self

How to set timing on a chevy silverado v6 after the distributor shaft has been changed and motor has been turned over?

Is the vehicle currently running and setting the code ckp comp correlation code?
  • P1345 - Crankshaft Position (CKP)-Camshaft Position (CMP) Correlation.Let me know I believe I may be able to assist in correcting this issue. If it's not starting we'll have to reset the distribitor and bring the the engine to top dead center on cylinder 1.
