Question about 1994 Dodge Caravan

1 Answer

Caravan 1994 (3.0 Liter engine) No heat

Initial problem with the Caravan was that one moring last week it suddenly had no heat and I noticed the temp gage went over the half when suddenly I heard the the sound of water swooshing through the engine and the temp gage came back down to normal and some heat was coming through.

I noticed that the Air temperature was Hotter when I was giving gas and cooler when I was at idle.

I suspected the thermostat must be acting up so I canged it.

The car ran pretty normal for about 2 days then this moring I started the car and even after I let it warm up for a bit I had NO heat whatsoever.
I started driving to work and I watched as the temperature gage went up again over the half and continued all the way to HOT and the Check Engine light came on - I pulled over and let the car sit for a few minutes, started up the car again (temp gage was now normal but still no heat) - drove for about 10 more kilometers and although (this time ) the temp gage stayed around the half (normal) position I had no heat whatsoever.

Not sure what to do next.

    Thanks for the reply.

Someone here at work told me that there may be a leak from the head gasket which is forcing air into the cooling system.

How may I be able to verify this?

U have a problem with the air temp control blend door actuator motor, very common failure. In order to replace this part the dash must come out.

Relay switch for fans on 99 dodge caravan keeps blowing causine engine to over heat ng

If the relay is getting too hot, the most common problem is a faulty radiator fan. The fan motor pulls current thru the relay. The radiator fan motor may be failing after it runs for a period of time.

Dodge grand Caravan 1995 has been acting up with erratic heating since last month.

Could possibly need a new thermostat, the thermostat opens and closes depending on the heat of the coolant. maybe also check your heating core. as well as the quality of you coolant.

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee temp gauge high when heat is on

If your "check engine" light is turn on, I suggest scanned the PCM to know exactly what fault code is stored there. Additionally, could be some problem with the "temp sending unit".

Rear seal- 1994 dodge caravan. 3.3 liter V6 automatic

Well to change out a rear main seal on any engine isn't an easy task on that one through a shop probabley 6 hours of labor or so,shop rates vary but I would say labor alone to be at least $250.00-$350.00 and for the seals and gaskets probabley $50.00-$75.00 so if a shop does it your bill should be about $300.00 min.and $425.00 max.

Blower works but have no heat in my 2001 dodge caravan

This may be due to a blocked air duct, or more seriously a blockedge to the heater core if so you may notice rising engine temp. or posibly a fluid leak
