Gas problems Hello all! I have a small problem with my 1987 mazda b2200. When i push the gas pedal, in order for the car to advance i need to press it to the floor or else it will not advance and will buck. So i can't maintain speed on the highway for example, i need to push the pedal to the metal, realese and let the car slow down and so on. Any ideas?! Thanks!

Clutch pedal goes to floor and half works on my b2200 1987 mazda pick-up

If the clutch is hydraulic operated, you need to bleed the clutch at the slave cylinder, down on the transmission housing. Bleed it just like you bleed brakes of air in the line-open bleeder valve, someone pushes clutch pedal slowly to floor, close valve, and repeat until fluid comes out valve in a steady stream. Make sure the clutch reservoir is full before starting. It uses regular brake fluid.
If not hydraulic, it would be cable operated. Adjust the cable until clutch pedal is right.

I have a 88 mazda b2200 it cranks up easy but if i do not push on gas pedal it will die...any suggestions?

Sounds like a carb problem, like the choke isn't functioning. Try some carb cleaner, and spray into the carb, and also check the air filter.
It could also be a vacuum leak. Check to make sure that all hoses and wires are connected properly.

Hi Brian.

The diagrams on Mazdatrucking.com are for the B2200. I have uploaded the vacuum diagrams for 1987 B2000 here. The files are three diagrams compressed in a zip folder. Please follow the instructions in server page to download the files.

My 1987 Mazda rx7 has a problem when trying to accelerate. When I press on the gas pedal, it sometimes feels like it's going to stall. Some days are worse than others.

Check that on your carburetor, when you press on the throttle, it still shoots a little bit of gas out into the barrel. If it does not, you may need to replace the throttle pump. what is happening is this: As the throttle is opened higher, the vacuum drops severely, and the fuel doesn't get put in. The throttle pump pushes a little squirt to retain the vacuum. If it is an EFI unit, you have other issues, that I would recommend a mechanic for.

Is there a fuse for 1987 Mazda B2200 fuel pump? If so, where is the fuse located?

The standard fuel pump on that Mazda is a mechanical pump. This is what it looks like unless somebody did a modification on it and fitted an electrical pump.

I have 1987 Mazda B2200 2.2 ltre, turns, fires, no fuel psi.

I had something like this before. There is a fuel saftey switch near the gas tank right by the rear end. Its a roll over sensor and mine fell off the mount and I guess the truck thought it was upside down :)
