Question about 2004 Ford Taurus
I have a CRAY problem with my 1997 Ford Taurus Wagon. If I put my Rear defroster on the License plate Lights come on! If I put my Headlight switch on the Licence plate lights DO NOT COME ON!! The License plate lights only work with the headlight switch OFF and the rear Defroster ON!! Any Ideas?????
First chk. all fuses and bulbs. There is a backup light switch under dash either on steering colume or someplace close. plate lights should be hooked in with running lights, If bulbs are ok chk for wire unhooked or bad ground. can't help on diagram.

Very easy, 2 or 3 minutes.
Remove radiator grille. 2 plastic fittings on top, quarter turn and lift out grille.
Remove complete headlight. Simply lift out 2 L shape retaining pins. Disconnect lead. Ease out complete headlamp unit.
Remove back of headlamp unit to access bulbs. Disconnect lead from bulb while bulb still held by clip. Then release clip to remove bulb.
Reverse process to fit.

Try turning the socket that holds the bulb to the left and pull it out to get to the bulb some times these get so hot that they start to melt so it might be hard to turn

Take a thin blade screw driver and gently pry between the rubber seal and the metal and pop the light out, replaced the bulb and pop the light back in. works fine.
