I could not wait 24hours for a responce, so I figuredit out on my own. I pressed in on the axel and when it receded onthe other sidethere was enough room for a scoket to take off the bearing case which is where you put in the lug nut bolts. Had them pressed into place and put everything esle back together, we are now up and running. Would like a refund on the service charge thank you seeing how know one helped me out except asking if I wanted to pay more for the answer. Have a great day

How to change rear axle on 1998 town and country

This vehicle does not have a rear axle. It has 2 spindle hubs that are bolted into a housing with 4 bolts from behind the brake assembly similar to the hub assembly in the front except that the mount is static and has a spindle instead of a 1/2 axle joined to the transmission. To remove it, remove wheel, remove 4 bolt and and speed sensors if equipped with ABS brakes.. You may need to disassemble the brakes to get at the nuts & bolts.

Its pretty much nuts and bolts. Remove the serpentine belt. Unplug the connector, remove the large battery cable and unbolt. The bottom bolts are easier to get at with the passenger front tire and splash shield removed.

I need to change front brake pads

You have two bolts to remove the caliper (it will still be attached to the flex hose). then use a C clamp to compress the caliper piston (one side on outside brake pad the other end on the back of the caliper). Inspect other components, replace pads and reinstall. I would highly recommend replacing rotors as well or at least having them turned. Its a pretty easy job if you have done similar jobs in the past.
