Same thing just happened to my 2008. I was driving to work and suddenly, no gears available (1-5 or reverse). Had it towed. Mechanic says linkage is connected and working. Has to drop the transmission. Minimum cost is $1,200.00!!!!!
I am not a mechanic but when we replaced one on my Moms Chrysler we were told all we had to do was disconnect it from the power source for 10 min and it would reset itself.
Call you local dealer service department or parts department, they are usually pretty good about answering this type question.
Hard upshift, This is cause by one factor low transmission pressure this can come from internal leaks at valve body leak or even a internal leak at the torque convertor,or a transmission pump that cant feed the torque convertor properly
P0741 Torque convertor clutch circuit failure,it is located in the transmission valvle body, it is attatch to the valve body you can remove it seperately as long as your going to own the Ford focus you might as well get use to replacing these all the time,very common transmission issue with todays car. By the way it is sensitive to worn transmission fluid,when you dont service often these are suspectable to failure.
1 motor mount right front side, then there's a trans mount left front & torque strut mount. I checked out a nice Poly set (eng & trans) on eBay at about 28.00 includes shipping. Item #170433115996
sorry to tell you but your tran is junk.they are noted for the front pump going to hell. but take it to you mec have him scan your computer in the car to make sure
I had the same exact problem in my 2006. When it went into the shop I told them. They took a look at it and told me that they needed to be lubricated and cleaned out. I live in a rural area and drive on a lot of dirt roads. Apparently dirt had gotten into the locking mechanism and gummed it up. They fixed it for me last May and I haven't had a problem since. This may or may not be your issue too but I hope it helps.
