Question about 2004 Chevrolet Suburban

Six way power driver seat bottom does not adjust up or down.

2004 Chevy Suburban. Initially, it would seems to be stuck and I would move the (2) motors and it would work for a while (maybe a day or two) and it would back to the same. And now, it wont go up or down. All other functions are wroking fine (recliner, heater, and slide fwd and backwards). Any ideas.

It can only be 2 things, either the switch is bad or the motor in the transmission is bad, both parts are a common failure so u must test each to determine which is at fault, do u have a 12 volt test light? if not get one, about $6 from any parts store like Kragen, Autozone and others, raise the seat as high as possible and disconnect the motor that is inop, (be careful not to break the connector locks) push the switch to operate that motor in one direction (up for this test), the test light should light, then move the test light to the other terminal of the connector and press the switch for down, again the test light should light, if the lights go on as described then the motor is the problem and if they don't the switch is the problem.

I had the same problem with my 2004 Suburban. Bought it used and didn't check the up and down on the driver side power seat. The gear heads on the motors were stripped and I had to replace the entire seat track assembly. It's the only way you can replace these 2 motors. The track assembly cost $750 and it took me about 3 hours to remove and replace it.

2004 chevy. Heated seats will not stay on.

See GM TSB 05-08-143-001, If you have Adjustable pedals, especially if they dont; work with the memeory buttons, but function with thier own buttons. Its the Brake Pedal Position Sensor is shorted and mesing up the seat module which controls the heaters too. My 05 Suburban had the same issue.

I think I have a blown fuse on my 2004 Suburban

At the back of the outer seat adjuster rail is a connector. Sometimes the conn comes apart or wires break or wires get shorted and trip the seat circuit breaker or fuse. This will happen on either side of seat. Also make sure nothing was stashed under the seat to cause wires getting caught & pulled out.
