J reg mazda mx3

My car is reving high then low when the clutch is pushed to the floor and its in first gear. It doesnt happen when i first start it, only when its been running for a bit and its warmed up. any ideas what it might be. also whoever had the car before me sealed the sunroof shut. you can hear it trying to open and close (its electric) other than this i can see no damage to it. would it be cheap to fix? im thinking that all it may need it a new seal

93 mazda mx3 wont shift in high gear

clutch plate worn causing slipping no increase in speed or transmission fluid low or transmission fluid old contaminated, transmission need fluid and filter change.could have fault in the kick down solenoid or over drive cancel solenoid.have transmission shop code scan look for faulty shift solenoids or speed sensor fault code, lock up solenoid got a lot of parts any one of them cause no over drive.

So a 1994 mazda mx3 with a manual tranmission. When you hit the accelerator when the car is in gear the car will rev but not actually move. We can push the car without an issue so not a brake locked up...

Colybear18,
All the indications you stated above give a clear indication that the clutches are worn completely. What is required is that you get the gear box serviced - changing the clutch disc will make the diffence you are looking for. The burnt smell you noticed was the complete failure of the clutch plate. Hope this helps.... Do have a good day.

Mazda 626 - Hard to shift into gear.

With any vehicle that has a hydraulic clutch, a worn master cylinder or slave cylinder will give this very symptom. First step is to check the fluid in the resivor. If it is low, you will want to check for fluid bypassing the seals. Be sure to check under the rubber dust cover as fluid can collect there and not be readily visible. Also, if the fluid in the resivor is dark colored, it is an indication of the internal seals going bad and you will need to replace the cylinders.
