Question about 2000 Ford Focus

Last night my focus 1.8 diesel stopped and never started again

I've taken my ford focus to be tested today cause last night it stopped and never started again.the mechanic said it was the diesel pump that was malfunctioning .he also said that in order to have a new one fitted it needs reprogramming...what do you recommend?

Pump does need to be configured with your vehicle's ecm so he is correct.

diode in alternator is shot. test w a voc.volt o meter. should have at least high 13s tomid 14 volts to keep car charging

Fuel pressure [roblem? Lazy fuel pump, fuel filter fed up? If diesel, Infection pump pressure regulator? Have rail pressure chk'd. If illter is overdue, change it If ford can't fix it yhere is always the LEMON LAW!!! Focus speedo fault


a speedo problem,take dash out ,spray it with wd40 and it will last a bit longer,but you will end up having a new one,if its still under warranty take it back

you dont say what diesel engine it is --is it a common rail diesel or a standard pump diesel ?need to know---think you have had your leg lifted mate if there is no codes why carnt they read actual data remember its not the standard of the equipment its the knowledge needed to use it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

check the diesel filter.it will be clogged,i am sure.Replace it.
