What's missing ? Spark , fuel pressure , or compression. Try spraying carb cleaner into the engine ,throttle plate . Does it try to start then ? If the injectors are bad it will not start , just crank ! Videos on youtube showing how to test fuel injectors with a ohm meter .
It is more than likely air locked if you turned the engine with no fuel in it. So remove the fuel pipe from the engine and crank the engine till the fuel comes out then connect it to the engine again
How long since a tune-up? Include air filter, fuel filter, gas injector cleaner...Also check the Idle Air Control valve on your 3.4 V-6...It can be dirty or clogged over time...Located on the air intake plenum...your auto parts store can also show you a diagram...Fuel pressure must be constant also, your Firebird is worth having the fuel pressure regulator checked, as well as the fuel pump...
You have to bleed the air out of the lines which bring fuel to the injectors. Usually this is done by placing a rag to soak up fuel under a fuel line joint (connection point), loosen the joint to allow air to escape until you see rule coming out, then tighten the joint to stop the leak once the line is full of fuel again. It may be easier to find the fuel return line and loosen it until you see fuel coming out. Have a fire extinguisher handy.
On your car the ECM is set up with two quad injector firing sequence. All even numbers and all odd numbers. It is rare that both would go out at the same time. The ECM grounds the injectors, so I would check for power going to the injectors first. This could be a fuse or a bad wire. One wire feeds power to the injectors until it reaches the engine. this is a start, so let me know. Randy
Is there gas in the tank? Many GM fuel gauges have shown half-full when in actuality, the tank has run dry.
Check injector circuits with a noid light or regular test light to see if the light flashes. If the light flashes, but the injectors are not spraying, check fuel pressure with a gauge. If no fuel pressure, ensure that the fuel pump fuse is not blown (many GM cars have the fuel pump fuse in an inline fuse holder) If the fuse is good, check that the fuel pump is receiving power and ground (positive and negative) If it is, and there is still no fuel pressure, the pump is bad, and the gas tank will have to be dropped to get the pump out. Good Luck.
This is a common problem on GM vehicles. When this happens, look for a light on the dash somewhere that says SECURITY. If you see this, you have an antitheft security issue. It can accually turn off your starter, fuel pump, or injectors. Check out this link for info and some possible DO IT YOURSELF solutions. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
indicates problem injectors
a cheap test is to run a couple of cans quality injector cleaner through the fuel tank and if that doesn't improve it have the injectors cleaned and checked
while that is happening run the fault codes to check for other problems
You need to relieve the fuel pressure, Gain access to the fuel rail, should be 4 or 5 bolts holding the fuel rail on... once you accessed and removed the fasteners, carefully pull up on the railon aboth sides.. a little wd may help release the injector seals, and you definitely wanna replace the lower o-rings... be careful liining the injectors up when u install the rail
