I would remove the fan motor. You may have ingested something from the glove box into the fan motor. This is a known issue, the opening for the heater box is directly behind the glove box, and papers can get sucked into the heater fan. The fan is held on by 3 screws, under the glove box, it is easy to remove.

Regarding the coolant loss, I would suspect that you have a water pump leak. A slow leak is not uncommon, and a pressure test will hold the pressure. I would have the water pump examined.

Hope this helps; a FIxYa rating for my assistance would be greatly appreciated.

My 2006 VW Jetta is making loud, screaming/screeching, sound from the passenger side-front, behind the the dash/glove box, between the engine and wheel.

I would like to think it is the electric fan behind the radiator that is screeching. When you stop the car, everything should stop, but that fan. That fan is supposed to cool the radiator, even after the engine is off and the car stops. It would not be so bad, because it does not run as much, in cold weather, but in hot weather, it should start sooner and run longer.
I needs to be replaced.
Be blessed.

I had the thermostat housing replaced and coolant system flushed and now my car is overheating

It sounds like the fan is bad. Cars with a/c usually have two fans, so when you turn on your a/c that fan kicks on cooling the fluid/engine. And even if the fan is working it might not be working at full capacity. know more about diagnostic tools from http://www.obd2express.co.uk

Dirver side power seat not working?

I've got a 2005 Passat GLX (bought it new); took it in for an oil change, and the mechanic also cleaned my cabin filter. I leave his shop and I realize I don't have power seats no more on the driver's side (passenger side fine)....neither backward/forward or up and down, (separate motors, I believe)....Coincidence????? I don't know-never had any problems before. The car has 65,000 original miles.

The guy checked the fuses on the dashboard driver side, near door....seemed alright. They were closing so he told me to come back Monday....I'm thinking of taking it back to dealer (I lost trust in this guy).

Any thoughts on what could have gone wrong???

If you have a heater core leak, your coolant will be low. Another issue could be the drain tube for the A/C. This will be on the engine side, coming out of the fire wall, in front of where the passengers feet would be. Make sure the drain tube is clear of dirt, or bee's nests.

try going to passenger door window switch and reset it by going down and holding for extra 3to5 seconds after window is down, do same to go up, then try doing it with master switch don forget to hold it longer, this is a reset also used on Scion vehicles, hope it helps.
Good luck

You may be able to braze (2) 1/2 in. copper 90 degree water fittings back to back to install as a jumper. Install jumper well ahead of bad hoses. I have never seen a stopped up heater core. Replace any suspect hoses and temp control valves.

just because the fans come on that doest mean that there is no problem if your thermostat is not operating correctly this could make your engine over heat also while your at flush yout coolant system really good.

Is it coming from the driver side, passenger side, front or rear of the engine? It could be a cam or crank seal if it is coming from the passenger side behind the plastic timing cover.

Sounds like something shorted . Fuse is often in there for such long periods of time that it can get stuck. At this point give the man some time to do a diagnostics without "second guessing" him. Sometimes things happen and although the timing of the failure appears suspicious, it may not be...(Once had a timing chain on a customers car fail after an oil change while it was backing out of the shop...routine job...just happened that way!!)
