Service light is on - 2007 Cobalt

Hi, yesterday we had a storm and the ABS light came on. I cleared out the tires and then the light went off and now I have an engine light on. i am low on fluids also and need to top up and want to know which hole is for the motor fluid and which is for the transmission. Dipstick on the trans fluid is very, very low. Could this be the problem with the light being on?

What can i do to a 2008 cobalt chey my service taction light comes on.

If the ABS light comes on immediately it likely has something to do the actual ABS control unit. Those are expensive, ask the place that did the work if they made any adjustments. Typically ABS control systems should only be serviced by the OEM. If the light comes on when you are driving, or if there is a catastrophic short in one of the wheel sensors it would also cause this and be far cheaper. Since the traction control light is also coming on it may very well be a wheel sensor since the same sensor is often used to detect wheel slippage and motion stop (for traction and ABS). The sensor price varies, for my Chevy Corsica is was 60+ for the front ones, and a lot for the rear since the sensor was housed in the hub. (if you have disc brakes in the rear, the price should be the same. i own a repair shop, and its not as bad as it sounds on this one,it could just be maintenance reminder on it causing this to happen they will do this ever so many miles, but i would have it checked, because when they was doing the brakes on it they might have hit a sensor and knocked a wire loose on it or something, but its not a big major thing with it,but take it back and have it checked,at this time there would be no way as to guess the cost of fixing it,if its a loose wire, probably 0 cost on it,but have it checked to be sure, good luck i hope this helps

The service traction light comes on as well as ABS light stays on

this is normal you have a brake problem or a sensor abs not working possible whl brn could do this as well so start at the brakes if you can check front and rear then check whl sensors the wires sometime break in the front first or check fuses to see if they are not burnt if the light stays on and you are not sure if you cant take it to a tech to check codes unplug battery for 15 mins then try again to see if it comes on

Traction controll light came on.

Likely, a bad wheel bearing or bad tires alignement, also, there is a ABS wheel sensor that is on the hubs on these vehicals that should be changed if the light that you are getting comes and goes this happens when the signal from the sensor to the ABS system has been interupted you can take it to autozone and have them clear the code for you till you can get this repaired these sensors can cost around 150 to replace.

Hope helps (remember to rate and comment this).

sounds like the radiator fan is not coming on. possible cause is the cooling fan switch or the cooling fan relay. worse case senario is the cooling fan is bad

I WOULD NOT KEEP DRIVING IT.WHEN ABS LIGHTS AND BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON.YOU HAVE BRAKE FAILURE. TOW IT TO DEALERSHIP HAVE IT SERVICE.AND CHECK THE ABS BRAKES SYSTEM .BECAUSE ABS BRAKE SYSTEM IS NOT A HOME FIX.BECAUSE THE ABS HYDRAULIC MODULATOR UNIT HAS LOWER FROM HOME POSITION .IN ORDER TO MOVE THE MASTER CYLINDER FROM UNIT.YOU NEED A TECH 2 SCANNER TO DO THE JOB.TO GET ABS BRAKES TO BLEED RIGHT BEST TO GET THEM PRESSURE BLEED INSTEAD OF MANUAL BLEEDING GET LESS AIR IN SYSTEM.THAT WHY SEE DEALER SHIP HAS THE THINGS TO DO THE JOB.

The problem could be youe sensors are wet and they freeze. This will cause the light to come on. Common problem.

How do I reset a low tire pressure indicator light on 2007 cobalt

Disconnect the battery. It should purge out any problems that have not cleared out of the computer but have fixed itself (more air pressure in tire).

If the tire gets low enough to set a flat tire code, simply putting air in the tire won't clear the light. The dealer will have to clear the light for you. If you are really nice and tell the service advisor that you just need the light cleared they will likely do it for free.
