Question about 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier

Turn signals come on solid

The turn signals on our 2003 cavalier come on solid sometimes, at other times everything works fine and they flash properly. When the signal lights are malfunctioning, they are solid on both the exterior lights front and back (either left side or right side depending on which direction the turn signal lever is turned) and on the instrument panel. It also malfunctioned in a parked position. While they were malfunctioning in a parked position, I switched from left to right and both sides came on solid, I also tried the emergency flasher which caused the lights to flash, then they malfunctioned again? Could it be the emergency flasher switch malfunctioning? Thanks in advance

There maybe a flasher fuse in one of the fuse boxes that needs replaced. You could try it. There is usually just one on the inside fuse panel (on older cars anyway) that runs all flashers. It is usually round and about an inch or so in diameter. A lot of newer cars are designed with more fuses located under the hood than in the dash. Just a guess.

My cavalier's right turn signal turns on but doesn't flash. The left turn sigal works just fine it turns on and flashes. So how do I fix it?

This typically is a sign you have a blown bulb.

Turn on the blinker, and walk around the vehicle - and find the one on the right side that is not illuminated.

Thanks!!

Turn signals not working

check your hazard lights..do they flash? if they don't, then the flasher unit (usually a canister looking thing under the drivers side brake pedal area) is bad. if only one side of the turn signal doesn't work it usually means you"ve got a poor connection on one of you bulbs, but you said both sides are not working...so check fuses... and if everything checks fine, then it has to be a bad turn signal switch.

2003 Ford Explorer Sport rear turn signal acting up

if it's only the rear turn signal that does this, check the plug where the bulb snaps in. if loose or bad connection to bulb, it will sometimes work and sometimes not. if its both the front and rear turn signal bulbs, could be the combination switch. these were common failures on fords

1999 Ford Explorer Turn Signals do not always work.

it is the turn signal flasher that is bad, it is a solid state electronic flasher, the old ones where mechanical and either worked or not, the solid state ones can work and then stop, see it allot, the flasher is a small plastic square, like a relay but a little bigger, it is under the dash to the rear of the dash (closer to the firewall) on the left of driver, points down.

You will need to replace the flasher unit, I believe it is solid state, the old mechanical ones would just stop working, the new solid state one's do weird things like what you have going on.

Chev Cavalier 2003 only one rear turn/brake/hazard light

I have a 2002 Chev Cavalier that had the same exact problem. I replaced the bulb harness (purchased from a chevy dealership for around $5) which was fairly easy to do. I have had zero problems with it since.
