Losing power 98 TJ wrangler

Sounds as if converter on exhaust is getting plugged up. have it checked and replaced. That will force exhaust out ahead of it where ordinarily it would flow with less pressure. Oil leak is a separate item.

Replacement of catalytic converter 98 Wrangler

you don't have to remove any hangors, but some times its easier. After getting it all off, it goes back on the same way. I prefer welding the pipes shut, but its not neccessary, just make sure the U Clamps you are using are good ones and tightened good.

That is the torque converter clutch circuit. Have the torque converter switch and/or relay switch checked, or torque converter lock up switch.

How do you know if your torque converter is bad on Jeep wrangler

First check fluid. Make sure it's full and clean and does not smell burned (compare to another good car)
Converter failure is usually most obvious when trans shifts to OD. if shift is late or makes bang noise going in, you likely have a problem. to check lockup, after od engages, lightly touch brake, trans should momentarily shift out of od. Whining is usually due to low fluid. Also check transfer case and both differentials for proper level and leaks.
