Question about 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Starting the truck is no problem at all. once it is starts the guages will jump up usually to about 1000 rmps, half tank of gas, and 9 volts for the battery and then fall after about two seconds. all of the dash lights work including the interior lighting. what doesnt work is the mirrors, the radio, the windows and the gauges. yet when i turn off the truck and turn the key forward a click the windows and mirrors work but the gauges still dont.
previously i had it in the shop because it was stalling when i would come to a stop. the rpms would drop and the engine would kill. i wouldnt think that this would have anything to do with the problems i am having with my gauges and other things, because im no longer having issues with the engine killing when the rpms would drop below 1000
This is not a typical automotive problem. This is a serious electrical issue.... maybe related to ignition switch or emission control module. I don't think you'll find a simple answer other than taking it to a dealership for service.
