SOURCE: my battery died now disc player says no discs please help?
Very tricky, my suggestion is to restart the radio again see if it reads the CDs this time. Try removing the radio fuse, where all the other fuses are at. Turn the radio on without the fuse, press and hold a button for a minute just to make sure you drain the electricity from the changer. Then put the fuse back and see what happens. You can also disconnect the negative or ground from the battery wait five minutes and connect it again but this will also restart the car computer.

This can be poor grounding of the engine and alternator and battery as there is a potential drop. It can also be due to a mismatch with high load when the charging voltage is not balanced.
So since the alternator was replaced the rectifier/regulator also can have a small leak which is producing the soft light which goes off when the headlight is swithced off. A test may not show this because the charge would be seen but the fault is a tiny ac leak into the system due to the weak regulator. It might fail in the long run or casue static in radio.

something is not shutting off when you shut off the car... if you have a multimeter check for current drain on the battery with the key off.

Should be a small miniscule amount of drain (keeps the memory on your radio)

I talked to a dealer, all they could tell me is they have to send it to honda to fix it... a good 250$ for software fix...plus dealer will charge 50$ for each time they take the player out and in...
Hello and welcome to FixYa!
If the battery light is on, I strongly suggest that you have
the battery charged. It can be an indication of a weak battery or a faulty
alternator. If the battery light still on after charging then the problem will
surely be on the alternator itself. If that's the case the alternator should be
replaced to resolve the problem.
If the battery won't hold charge even on a new alternator
then the problem will be on the battery itself. It surely is in the end of it's
service life and replacement will be necessary.
You may try to reset it to by removing the positive battery
connector, letting it sit for at least 5mins. then reconnect it again. This
will reset the system and can get the battery light off.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
