I NEED THE PROGRAM PROCEDURE FOR A S1000 SECURITY SYSTEM

I HAVE A 1996 TOYOTA CAMRY WITH THE S1000 RECIEVER MODULE. THE MODULE DOES NOT HAVE A GREEN PROGRAM BUTTON. I'VE TRIED SHORTING PINS 2 AND 10 ON HE MIRROR CONNECTOR, OPENING AND CLOSING DOOR KEY IN KEY OUT PROCEDURES NOTHING WORKS. DEALERS HAVE YET TO RESPOND.

YES THERE IS. THAT IS THE ALARM MODEL S1000 . MADE BY FUJITSU TEN. THIS IS THE FACTORY INSTALLED ALARM SYSTEM.

  • Anthony Gonzales Jan 14, 2009

I HAVE REMOVED THE BOX OPENED IT UP AND CHECKED FOR A GREEN BUTTON. THERE IS NOT A GREEN BUTTON. ARE THERE PINS THAT CAN BE SHORTED ON EITHER CONNECTOR TO GET INTO THE PROGRAM MODE. IS THERE SOMEWHERE I CAN GET A SCHEMATIC FOR THE BOX AND I WILL FIGURE IT OUT. I'M AM A 30 YR EXPERIENCED ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN.

  • Anthony Gonzales Jan 14, 2009

There are no other boxes up in there.

Ed, is it possible to send this info out there to other toyota Techs?

i can not believe that this issue has not come up. The vehicle sat for 3 yrs and the battery was dead. The alarm works. Its goes on with the horn sounding and exterior lights flash. It turns off when I start the vehicle.

    Thank you Ed,

I appreciate your efforts. I had been racking my brains over this. I can install an aftermarket system.

I repair TV's, bigscreens, DLP's, Plasmas and LCD's for a living. I'll keep posting solutions.

    Thanks again!

Here's the scoop for all those who have a S1000 vip security system used in Toyota vehicles.

Now you have explained the issue a bit better.
    The S-1000 is not programmable.
It is a passive system, as I have just found the 1996 installation instructions. I apologize for the delay and the wrong info I previously provided, I was thinking the RS system not the S system. Sorry.

Here is how it works: You get in the car. You have 10 seconds to start the car, or the alarm goes off. When you exit the car, the system automatically arms. There are no buttons, no remotes. The system works off of draw seen by the S-1000 control unit. When the dome light comes on, or any other electrical device comes on, the system begins to count. If the vehicle is not started in X amount of seconds, the alarm goes off. Cycling the key i the ignition stops the alarm.

I have a 1997 Toyota T100 pick up with the same problem. I unhooked the horn to shut it up. I pulled a flasher out of the fuse box and the lights quit blinking, but know I have no dash lights. I dont really care about the alarm but I would like to have my horn and lights back. Any ideas?

WHOA. Hold on for a second...This is a FACTORY unit?

Look behind the fuse box for another black box.

Under the dash, extreme left side.

  • Toyota Ed May 11, 2010

Can you post a photo of the box, with it open? All of the info I have here (I am a Toyota Dealership) tells me that there is a re-program button inside the box. There are no terminals to "short out". Please advise about the photo.

  • Toyota Ed May 11, 2010

If it is a factory unit, on the side of the box that faces the center console, there should be a small green button, it is recessed in a hole on the box. It is very hard to see, if the box is not removed from the wire-tie that holds the box to the floor. Please re-examine the box and see if the button is there. Then we can proceed with the reprogramming.

I have a question about this S1000 alarm. How come when you cycle the key 5 times, the red light of the alarm on the dash board, turns on permanently? Does it enter in some mode for programming?

You are quite welcome. Note that you will need to remove the S-1000 before you install a new system.

Ah, I see that you have recently joined our little community. How good are you at bigscreens? REAL GOOD? We have a little issue here with an "expert" that is posting what we think is bogus info in bigscreens. Would you consider checking out a few solutions?

A FixYa for my assistance would be appreciated.

1996 Camry Tail ights not working

So its a wagon? or I dont know what S/W is. If the license plate light works, the light failure sensor could be bad. It should be in the left rear corner area and have 4 wires. Green, Light Green, Yelow/Green and White/black. You should have power on the Green going into the box, and the Light Green out to the tail lights. If you have power on the Green, but no power on the Light Green, then the box is bad, either replace the box, or you can just connect the Green to the Light Green wire to get tail lights operating.

Toyota Camry 2008 Locked by Security System

The computer for the alarm is probably causing your problem. Scan the anti theft module to trouble shoot for the problem. You might have a door sensor that is shorted.
